Ridiculous Crashes
This is insane. Ever since Update 5 it's been nonstop crashes. I'm trying to play online with a friend, he doesn't experience any crashing whatsoever.
The kicker: Our PCs are nearly identical. I tried going back to the same video driver as him, still crashes.

Verified the game files as suggested, no problems found and still crashes.

Satisfactory looked great and ran great, why did they have to mess with the graphics at all for the update?

Try disabling auto-save. It's apparently worked for me. Interested in knowing if it works for others.

I read people mentioning that and tried, no change.

Have you tried forcing DX11?
Munin Dec 11, 2021 @ 7:58am
Do you use or have used Mods? Also, posting the error/crash report here would be useful.
Eraser_tr Dec 11, 2021 @ 8:19am
Done that already, Dx11, Dx12, Vulcan, all crash.

No mods whatsoever.

That error usually is caused by Nvidia graphics cards taking too long to calculate something and DirectX thinking you unplugged it (like took it physically out of the box...) because it hasn't reported back quick enough.

There are several 'fixes' but it's a hardware issue that Nvidia refuses to fix.
https://thegeekpage.com/dxgi-error-device-removed/

The "HUNG" error is usually caused by corrupted drivers though.
1. Disable driver updates in windows.
2. uninstall the drivers.
3. DDU the drivers in safe mode (clear them out completely)
4. restart as many times as necessary
5. reinstall the drivers

And check inside your computer the Card. Maybe it is not fully connected to the slot.
While doing it, check the RAM and cables, also.

solved this one by updating drivers and installing the nvidia control panel (on the settings i set everything to default, tested "performance" settings, but the game would crash on start).

my card is a very old model built into a laptop, and Dell only has a slightly outdated driver version available, finding the right one manually was not possible because this thing is so old its mothballed, lucky me, the GeForce app located the latest drivers, and installing them fixed the problem.

I have crash after crash, max 10min. playing and always d3d11 or d3d12 cash report. I search on google and try many solutions no can help. Then I find topic ( i think is on reddit) that someone write to not use fps limit . I chanege that to no fps limit and no more crashes for me. I don't have monster PC ( i5-8400,16gb RAM, GTX 1060 6gb) but it works for me.
ps. sorry for my bad English

I was using Nvidia 496 drivers, the most recent ones, my friend with the same exact video card (RTX 2060 super) was experiencing no crashes whatsoever and he was running 472.12 I tried those and it still crashes.

Have you disabled all overlay software?
OdiumMachina Dec 13, 2021 @ 10:26am
Same here - Been real, real bad since 5 (or could be fixmas, bout the same time) on stable release.

No mods, fresh install, verified drivers are up to date (because that's never a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cop-out excuse). Dropped all settings from Ultra to low, because why not. Changed auto-save to every 4 minutes, as i crash to desktop every 5-10 -_-

Looks like a DX11 error, but I defer to the devs - Error below.

Been engineering abominations since launch (to include the price snafu) with little to no issues till now. Ya'll are always on top of issues, with quick and effective patches - One of the best developers I've seen, but DX11 didn't just break for however many users are affected, so what gives guys?

No... not the same kind.

Either clean up the shader caches or move over to the new standard, dx12 (if your card can handle it).

Yeah, that one is shader cache corruption since the rendering engine was updated.
