Don't use mods.
Munin 2021 年 11 月 26 日 上午 12:49
Disable/remove mods. Verify your files. If that doesn't work force DirectX 12. If that doesn't work try to force Vulkan or DX11.
Peter_Frank 2021 年 11 月 26 日 上午 5:01
I can't even do that! it crashes before any selections can be made. Can't start the game at all...
Munin 2021 年 11 月 26 日 上午 6:07
You can set these launch parameters on Steam. You don't need to start the game for it.
MCOGMan 2021 年 11 月 26 日 上午 10:18
no mods being used.

how do you "force" vulkan or dx11?

How do you "force" vulkan or dx11?
Steam Library > Satisfactory > right-click > Properties > Launch Options

Enter "-DX11" to force DirectX 11, enter "-vulkan" to force Vulkan, etc.

Every single time... Can someone STICKY THIS:
CLEAR YOUR SHADER CACHE IN YOUR GRAPHICS DRIVER SOFTWARE AND VERIFY YOUR GAME FILES.
UPDATE YOUR GRAPHICS DRIVERS.

Your error specifically states there's a problem with sending the SHADER to the GRAPHICS DRIVER.

The rendering engine was changed, the shaders from the previous version are still being used, this is causing crashes on some systems and texture and lighting corruption on others. If you do not clear the shader cache this will keep happening.

COFFEE STAIN: I'm sure there's a way to clear the shaders from in-game somehow without having to force the rendering engine to something else.
DX11 shaders don't work in DX12 and Vulkan doesn't use them at all and creates its own version.
Every time you change the rendering engine you have to clear the shader cache on first launch after the update otherwise you get bug reports for something stupid like this. The moment you decided that DX12 would be default and everyone was using DX11, the game just started using the corrupt DX11 shaders.

I have exactly the same error, and unfortunately clearing the shader cache did not fix it.

I've never used mods, never run the game on DX12 (I'm on Windows 7, so I couldn't if I wanted to), and my drivers are current.

Not saying you're wrong, just that this didn't fix the issue for me.
dantejrl 2021 年 11 月 27 日 下午 2:23
same error all time, i stopped play.
i play with no mods, and force Dx11, 12 or vulkan change nothing.
i tried ton of things and i take a decision :
it's not my job to correct bugs, it's DEVS WORK!!!
the update 4 was perfect and nobody spoke dx 11-12 or anything!!!

Akuweal:
The game uses DIRECTX 12 as the default in update 5, if your system cannot do DIRECTX 12, you have to use the launch option -DX11
If you don't, your game will crash.

Peter_Frank:
Use the launch options listed a couple comments below yours.

dantejrl:
Yours seems more like a software issue on your end than a coding issue. You need to clear out your graphics drivers with DDU and start over with a fresh install of the newest drivers. You're probably using an nvidia card, try the geforce experience app or turn it off/disable it, uninstall it. There are too many things to diagnose since the only thing we know about your system is "it crashes...".

There are 4 unique individuals in here saying they have the same issue. The OP never said if anything helped. The other 3 people think they have the same problem but don't.

If you people want help, you have to post your system specs and your crash logs. A lot of these errors look the same to people that can't read them but they might be completely different.

Lil Puppy:
The current version of the game automatically forces DX11 for me since my system doesn't support DX12. I've tried with and without "-DX11", it doesn't make a difference. (If I try to force DX12 the game won't even start, I just get an error message.) I was having this issue from the beginning of Update 5, before they defaulted to DX12.

When I said "exactly the same error" above, I was referring to the OP having posted their crash logs. I have the exact same error as appears in that log. I'm fairly certain I don't have the same issue as Peter_Frank, and I don't have enough information to know about dantejrl.

Akuweal, I need your computer specs. CPU, GPU, OS(win7), and ram.
You could play update 4 right?
If it's exactly the same error that references anything with "RHI" anywhere in there near the top sections then you will need to do the following because it's still a shader issue.

!!!! Backup your save files first!! %localappdata%\FactoryGame\Saved !!!!

Instead of verifying the game cache, if you have the bandwidth to do it, uninstall the game, Delete the entire FactoryGame folder above, then reinstall the game from scratch. See if that works first.
If it doesn't:

Clear the shader cache from your graphics drivers.
-- AMD: Open AMD Radeon Software settings app -> Gaming -> Global Graphics -> Advanced -> bottom option Reset Shader Cache click the button.

-- NVIDIA: Disable global shader cache in NVIDIA control panel app -> REBOOT -> delete the following folder:
%localappdata%\NVIDIA\DxCache
Now clear out the Windows DirectX Shader cache:
START -> type: cleanup
select the Disk Cleanup app.
uncheck everything except the DirectX Shader Cache unless you know what you're deleting with the other options, and then click OK to clear it out.
Reboot again...
Re-enable the NVIDIA global shader cache and try the game again.

If the game still crashes, it's a driver issue, or a failing GPU.

Uninstall the graphics drivers, reboot, run the DDU program in safe mode to clear out the rest of the driver traces, reboot, reinstall the latest graphics drivers or a driver version that worked last. Reboot and then try the game again.

Additionally, disable any overlay programs like steam, epic, discord, FPS overlays, etc. They used to inject into the graphics pipeline, but in windows 10 they switched to a different method that wont work in windows 7 and may be corrupting things.
