Trucks/Explorers disappearing possible specific details/findings
So, I've noticed i'm not the only one having explorers and trucks disappear. I've been doing some tests flinging myself and vehicles with various flinging mechanics, And I've noticed that once the object getting flinged goes out of rez distance it stops completely until I return to rez distance, then it regains it's physics and falls.

So I've got a theory, perhaps the ground derenders before the trucks/explorers do, and because of that they fall through the ground a little bit before they realize that they are supposed to be derendered, and that chain reacts into them glitching through the floor and falling until they once again get out of render distance at which point they've essentially "disappeared"

I'm not sure if this makes sense, and I don't know anything about how the game is coded so this is purely a theory on whats going on. My intention is to help the developers find a fix by providing experience that I've been through.

As far as a temporary fix, so far I've been parking my explorer on solid objects (rocks, foundations etc) and haven't had an issue with it disappearing. Also the only explorer I've had disappear (and the only truck, I have since avoided building another truck) was on an oil (crude) node, or near it. Not sure if that has anything to do with it either.

I've also recently experienced this bug. My two Trucks and Explorer have failed to render and are just markers on the map now.

Your theory sounds likely given I've tried to blow them up with explosives and can't target them.

@nellers Also, An update. I was able to clip through the terrain, and I saw the truck and explorer that I lost! This is now a fact, once they end up clipping through the terrain (however the rendering does that or however it happens is still a theory) they will fall until they reach the "no physics render zone" Outside a players render range. I'm assuming this is so these things don't just fly forever if they get away from a player, it stops them short to save on resources and to save trouble for glitches like this. I tried building down to the truck and explorer but every time I got closer they would fall a little further. I haven't tried targeting them with explosives now that I can see them that might actually work I'll have to give it a go.

I take it you can't reach them with the deconstruct tool? Also how did you glitch into the ground?

It's pretty easy to build a train track in a way that it clips through a cliff face. after that it's pretty simple to build behind terrain.

Also have truck and explorer missing. Parked within a dozen yards of main complex. Icon is on map and radar for both. But they're no longer visible. I'll update if i can manage to clip and see if they've fallen through terrain. I wonder if parking on a foundation would mitigate this.
