Missing Coal Deposit
So I was ready to expand my productions line and was seeking new coal deposits. When i finally reached the area all I found was sand and no way to mine for coal.

Here is a screenshot of what i found.

Does anybody know how to resolve this issue? This is the only instance of this happening too. There were times my scanner would show power slugs in the ground and unable for me to grab but I don't have any screenshots of that. This however was dire enough to warrant a screenshot.

Try scanning again. You can actually see the pings from your previous scan on that screenshot, one coal is under that big boulder behind the fatty, the other is right from the boulder. There should be couple more tucked against the cliff near there, assuming that's the place by the lake.

It's not an exact marker on the compass. That area has 4 coal nodes, and the marker is in middle of them.

Ah I see now. Thanks a bunch! Would you happen to know the issue with the powerslugs seemingly being in the ground? Im assuming they are in a caves below ground level.

Likely to be underground, or above, if there's a ledge. There's a whole lot of caves, some are pretty massive and have several slugs scattered around in them.

I have also found some coal that looks like limestone for some reason. Wrong model or texture used I guess? This is near the big lake with the huge cliffs. Two deposits near the rock wall at the bottom.

Yep, those are precisely the ones I found at that screenshot location as well. Definitely the wrong texture but at least I have coal I can mine!
