I started a new game and have other saves. When I put down the space elevator it has me unlocking tier 3-4, remember I said new game. So how do I get to tier 5-6 with tier 1? Is there a save game file that tripped out and has me at a higher tier? First time I have seen this and really kills the game cuz is this a dead save I have to restart again?

Edit: Thought it was tier 5-6 when first looked at.

Ooh, sounds like a save/load exploit to me. If you can get a consistent setup to break the game script, be sure to upload the steps and save files.

Its not an exploit. You cant build the items needed for the elevator, the hub is stuck at tier 1 and the elevator is already at tier 3-4. So you can not progress, hub needs tier 1 elevator done, but its done. This is why you should never have multiple buildings that have tier lvl systems. One bugs out and the other is stuck, seen this in other games.

Copying game states between different saves is 100% an exploit. It has nothing to do with game states existing, and everything to do with proper memory management. In high level programming, stuff happens, it can't be helped.

I still don't really understand how you're getting the tech tree locked? The space elevator only cares about item inputs, feed it items and the HUB will unlock more stuff.

Right the items you feed into the elevator cant be built, I don't have the tech to build them. They are the tier 3-4 unlocks in the hub. The elevator skipped some items to feed into it, I was looking at advanced wires and frame works. When I ched I had no way to build these. I am not a new player, had a epic game and had over 200 hrs there. But when I started a new game on steam I still had old saves. I loaded up a old save to look at it but with all the new update items it would need rework like crazy. So started a new game, and when I put the space elevator down it was asking for items that I had no way to make. It was asking for the Tier 3-4 hub unlocked items, could make the plates but not any thing else.

This made the hub unlocks stuck, you need to feed the tier 2 items into the elevator to unlock the hub. But with a elevator asking for higher tier it stopped me cold.

I deleted all old saves and started again, hope that is a fix but was not happy to start over again after starting again.

So I tried setting up two separate games. One was my most advanced build and one was the game start to rush the space elevator. I don't know what happened but I found myself with two sets of hub parts. Also a nice game crash occurred literally as I was typing this. Something is definitely going on when trying to switch between worlds.

I wasn't able to get soft locked on game progress. Even though I somehow ended up with two sets of hub parts in my more advanced save, the progress for both items appear to be identical.

If i remember correctly I started the new game to look around but wanted to see all the new items, haven't plated for some time. Loaded the older more progressed game to see all the new stuff then went back to the new save, with all the work the old base was going to need starting over was the idea. Never made a elevator until I needed it to progress, that's when I found it a step or 2 ahead of the hub. Do wish I had screen shot this but was just trying to get the game to play. I have started over and deleted every old save and the other version of satisfactory, I did find 2 versions of satisfactory, the one on epic and one on steam. The new game is fine and I have cked. Just giving the rest of the info if this pops up again.
