I am asking help, i am not complaining.
My second computer is a bit older but still fast. I7-3770K @ 5.4 Ghz, large custom water loop in both machines and a very special older z77 motherboard with 32-phase power and PLX chips. and two water cooled GTX 980 Ti's with DDR3 ram @ 3000 at 12-12-12. (My old computer.. I upgraded away from that to the ryzen one but it still works so I keep it as a backup in case something dies with the new one)
Both machines get frame drops and stutters in satisfactory all the time. Sometimes hard stalls for 1-2 seconds spinning the camera around. I'm trying to tell you that no matter how fast our machines are this game still does this. I have "over the top" setups beyond what most people are using and I still get the stuttering too. It's nothing wrong with your computer.
EDIT: I even have a more pedestrian computer set up in the main room for our HTPC / Media Center system. Intel 3570K and a GTX 1060 6GB, normal DDR4 @ 2666, all air cooled and stock speeds. I tried running the game on that system and still get the same frame drops and stutters as on my big beasty computers.
Not totally sure how accurate that is, on the basis that i see no evidence of pop in when turning around.
Framerate is generally fairly stable on my aging rig, the only drops i see are when entering a new area for it to load in.
So, OP, the way we move forward in a logical manner is to get specs of your machine, and screenshots of the areas causing the frame drops.
At the very least, it might identify a setup the devs need to optimise for.
Why would i run the game maxxed out? I'm on an old 8350, paired with a 960. Its about 6 years old and needs a replacement. I do get a bit of stutter here and there, but doesnt seem as bad as what you are experiancing. The game does have an in built bugging ability, which is definatly worth bugging all of this.
Or i've jsut got used to it :)
We're talking about running along at 100-120 FPS average and having sudden drops to 60-75 FPS for a few seconds.
