60 FPS max. My eyes don't notice a difference above that on anything other than competitive first person shooters.

Capped at 60FPS and medium to high settings. Keeps the GPU cool and sucks less power.
Casurin Jan 16, 2024 @ 10:12am
60FPS and custom medium - keep the card nice quiet and cool.
Phoenix Cat Jan 16, 2024 @ 10:39am
60 FPS and medium to high settings.
X33STORM Jan 16, 2024 @ 11:11am
117 FPS. Individually tweaked settings based on performance impact vs visual gain.

1440p 45-65FPS with lows of 4fps when building large blueprint while the build animation plays. On high-ish settings. On a Stone-aged Xeon x5670 with GTX1070 8GB .

Depends on savegame size ;)

As the game is not that optimized yet and I placed a lot of object (UE object limit override) at my save:

7950X + 4090
medium, except shadows >> low
30 fps works best for me (smallest delay when playing objects) >> anything else is to annoying
Fenix Jan 16, 2024 @ 12:19pm
80 to 120, Ultra, except Shadows at med, and cloud at low, Playing @5120x1440
Ryzen 7 5800x
RTX 4070 TI
32 GB 3200 Mhz DDR4

I think FPS depends simply on your game complexity, how many objects you have in the world, not really on the size of the save file itself. I get on average like 80-100 FPS on my current save inside a large factory and constant 144 FPS (driver/monitor cap) with a new save in the same spot :) But the FPS fluctuates wildly even within my current save. I can see momentary drops down to 60 FPS in some forested areas up North and peaks up to 144 FPS depending where I am in the world.

However, I used to get better FPS right after they added DLSS support, but then it broke after some recent patch and my FPS dropped to pre-DLSS levels.

All settings maxed out, no Blur, no Global Illumination, DLSS on Balanced, FOV=120. Lowering View Distance or shadows settings doesn't seem to improve anything for me.

Res: 3440x1440 UW
RTX4080
13900K
64GB DDR5

Haven't played in a while so I just jumped into the game to test. Everything on ultra and maxed, DLSS off , TAA. at 1080p I was getting beyond my monitor refresh rate(165) somehow. I used the Nvidia overlay (alt-r) to get metrics.

I was 3/4 the way up a massive(150ish generators) turbo fuel power plant skyscraper in the grasslands. Moving between floors.

I was getting 160-212 fps.

5600x
4060ti
32gb @ 3200
m.2 NVMe (Samsung Pro)
PBO enabled
XMP enabled.

Nothing overclocked.
Krogan Jan 16, 2024 @ 6:50pm
Ultra, no dlss, 60fps @ 2560x1440
3090 / 5950x

4090, 7800x3d, 64gb ram, 1440p 90fps target

i play on max settings, no motion blur,
(with "sg.Globalillumination 5" this is cinematic lumen that got taken out, i use it instead of "high 3", this gets rid of blocks from the lumen for me)
apply in game with console

note that sg.Globalillumination 5 pulls a ton of power from the gpu. like almost 100 watts more for me. use at own risk.

i keep foliage at far

i run tsr balanced because lumen blocks from signs dont appear as much.

60% gpu usage, i like to keep the 4090 at about that to keep from pulling to much power while i play.

i use the following launch options:
-high -dx12 -NOSPLASH -NoVerifyGC -NOTEXTURESTREAMING

with engine ini as follows:
r.volumetricfog=1
AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdates=1
AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdatesDuringGamethreadUpdates=1
r.Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures=1
r.Streaming.MipBias=0
r.DetailMode=2
r.DBuffer=1
r.Lumen.SampleFog=1
r.Fastvram.volumetricfog=1
r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=4096
r.Shadow.MaxResolution=4096
r.Shadow.DistanceScale=2
r.ShadowQuality=4
r.Shadow.PreShadowResolutionFactor=1
r.Shadow.CachePreshadow=1
r.Shadow.PreshadowExpand=0.33
grass.MaxUpdateFrequency=40
grass.DensityScale=2
foliage.MinimumScreenSize=0.00000001
foliage.ForceLOD=-1
foliage.DensityScale=10
FX.AllowAsyncTick=1
FX.BatchAsync=1
FX.BatchAsyncBatchSize=9999999
FX.MaxCPUParticlesPerEmitter=50
FX.MaxGPUParticlesSpawnedPerFrame=4096
FX.AllowGPUSorting=1
r.MaterialQualityLevel=3
r.FinishCurrentFrame=0
r.OneFrameThreadLag=0
r.StaticMeshLODDistanceScale=0.1
r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=-10

notexturestreaming loads all textures at max quality to vram, so its a good way to reduce hitching while moving.

i have 0 input lag on a 16MB save with these settings and can hold a steady 60fps on that particular vanilla save.

how to apply:
1.apply in game graphics first and close game with those settings

2.then apply engine ini settings and set engine ini to read me only after saving the engine ini file.

3.set launch options after in steam.

enjoy smooth building or as smooth as it gets with max settings hahahaha

I guess we're meaning the same as the savegame size is the result of the complexity (how many objects were placed).

if anyone attempts to load these settings, make sure you have at least 16gb vram. otherwise game will run terrible. notexturestreaming loads all textures at max quality to vram, so its a good way to reduce hitching while moving.

my save is about 4 times bigger, anyway sounds interesting and I'll dig deeper your approach these days when there is more time - thanks for the advice.

Everything max, 1080p quality DLSS. I can hit 140 FPS but i lock it at 60. Since im on a laptop just to run things cooler and this came is butter smooth at 60.
AMD 5800h
32gb ddr 4 3200
NVME SSDs
rtx 3070 Laptop.

Out of Curiosity, I can hit 160 for a short burst. If I OC my GPU and under volt my CPU. but only about 10 min before thermals get me.

just as a final side note, game takes a long time to load when lauched, about 2 minutes for me give or take. then its pretty fast after i hit the main menu. the texture load is amazing after its done.
