You can add a second train station:

or you can add a freight platform to an existing station and a second freight car to the train
I often set consists to load several low count Items into the same car. At the destination I use splitters/smart splitters or programmable splitters to seperate and organize the mess as it unloads from the station going to where I need it. Even to the point of re-routing it to the next adjacent platform to be picked up by the next train. I have stacked stations where one train unloads on the upper station that sorts things to send to the lower station for pickup to go to certain processing areas. doing this allows for shorter stations and less empty space in designated cars.
I am not really sure if a lot of players know that, as I only discovered this recently by chance because I saw a brief glimpse of the settings icon.
