I will watch when I finish work
as for technical difficulties Snutt had during the UE5 teaser - ok, fine, they wanted to keep the UE5 update secret (although it was predictable from previous streams and the chain of "not an option at all" to "we may consider looking into it" to "yea, it'll be something maybe even before 1.0") - but now that it was revealed that U8 mostly will be UE5 with some map polish there's no need to keep anything U8 related secret anymore
from the stream it's clear that it will take at least another several weeks as there's still a ton (yes, a METRIC one for all you not-using-metric-system-weirdos) to do - so U8 can be expected sometime around summer (as in june/july) or even later
Snutt also already revealed "yes, there IS a solution to the MK3 miner / MK5 belt issue" - but why do they keep it secret? either it comes with U8 - or sometime next year with maybe U9/Un / 1.0 (or maybe in 2025 - doesn't matter, the game is in dev for how many years now? 4? 5?)
Satisfactory currently suffers really heavily from missing information directly from the devs to the community - or at least ANY form of feedback as over on the QA site - and THIS has to change fast no matter how (either direct communication from/with the devs - or a lot more from Jace and Snutt)
I DO understand why the game is kept so long in early access - as there's no other flow of income for the studio so they somehow have to get money - and it's honerable they don't do it with stupid cosmetics DLCs - but that's no excuse for lack of communication - it's very bad from the upper management
but hey - what do I complain about - all I will get is one of the following:
- no reaction at all
- some valve employee without any connection to CSS devs just punishes me with yet another warning/strike/ban just out of pure ego will
- the same we get since the past years from Jace and Snutt: "we don't want to reveal it yet"
currently there's quite a lack of community interaction and in this case when I'm asked "what do you think about uploading last weeks stream as video?": it's just another excuse - looking over to other studios there're better ways - and CSS's currently isn't a good one
And second they want to have release info little at a time through their teaser season but the delay in release means they now have some weeks to fill with something and there is only so many features left to put out videos on.
So far we got the unread engine update, new fauna, map changes, incredible updates to blueprints but there is more they havent released yet and will probably do so as they get back into weekly teasers after they have a pretty solid release day internally.
there is alot more for update 8 then the unreal engine from just what they told us so far and there is even more I expect they havent told us about yet that they will put out info on as soon as they know its a solid go and have a release date in mind.
Then when I inquired about it, the community was quick to assure me that controller support was definitely coming, and seemed to get angry with me for trying to get a definitive source or clarification on it.
So I waited, and now I can't refund the game anymore because I've had it too long, but I never would have bought it if I had known it didn't have controller support.
I want controller support. I don't understand why the devs of other games can implement full controller support but these guys can't.
So if you want controller support now I know there are ways to do it via steam deck and maybe other methods but I have no experience with using controllers on any sort of PC game as I didnt even know controllers even worked on PCs in the first place until recently.
I hope you didnt pay too much money. I know in my currency the game is pretty cheap when it goes on sale.
