Super Position Oscillator
There are two wrecks I have found that require this component
There does not seem to be a way to create one(super pos. Osc.)
From what I have read this is offered at XMAS.
WTF do I do the rest of the year?
Maybe while they're scanning a hard drive they can knock one one.

I've completed all the tiers and received a massage that I got a small "GIFT" in the NAM
I found an "Employee of the Planet" cup which cost 1 coupon.
You don't charge people for a "GIFT"

theres a mod that allows you to make it christmas any time of year.
Wait until Christmas
but for info you don't necessarily have to have these there are more fracks with hard drives than recipes.
There are 4 fracks with hard drives that can only be opened with the Christmas parts.

Not really worth playing the Christmas event just for that
I only got the parts last Christmas and had all the recipes and hard drives left for a long time.

I think you also have to set a specific date to get these parts in the calendar.
Just use the mod I do not know if the also simulates the time and lets the days pass.

The other part you only get at Christmas is the quantum computer

I dont use mods
thank you for the response
Currently these are not in the game (same goes for the quantum computer which is required for a few of them). However there are MORE hard drives in the then needed to unlock all of the alt recipes.

If you WISH to get these the ONLY known way to get SPO's and QC's are thru the ficmas event.
you can edit your savefile and inventory in the interactive map and add the required items manually

I hate when game developers play games. This smells like a marketing scheme to keep people around.
Its not going to work...I'm looking around for my next game.
The recipes for the most part are not that useful.
It takes a lot of work to get to and open up a wreck and the reward is usually disappointing.
if you put something in a game to resolve you should be able to do that.
leaving parts of the game out .

Thank you for the info

You play the game the rest of the year, or don't and play it again later, or don't play it. As was said before there are quite a few more hard drives than there are recipes and its your own time/value proposition that keeps you in a game. I'd rather there was stuff there to interact with, even occasionally, than not. Mark the locations on your map with stamps and move on. There is nothing to say those components won't be added in update 8, either. You are making a lot of judgments for something unfinished.

You missed the entire point of the fictional company you work for in the game.

You certainly used mods here, and were quite friendly referring another player to "investigate the use of mods"

Ficsit does not care who you are, your one of hundreds up to millions of people on a planet a long way from earth, the fact they even would give you attention which is on par with not dying, should say how the company your guy works for literally does not care for your well being, safety or even if you do your job or not.

Hell when you take damage, the game literally says "Damage to Ficsit property detected" not "Damage to employee detected"

Hell the fact Ficsit would even host an event at all when in reality its more of a "Ficsit event of see who can produce more gifts to deploy to the big dumb masses" says how the christmas event is more of a "work harder and you'll get some rewards for doing that."

Most of the best recipes are in the middle tiers but if you rely on the vanilla process of picking from 3 it can be difficult to get the good ones. I use a mod that gives a research tree in the nam so i can just pick the one i want from the available tiers then let the hard drive research it. But i agree most are disappointing especially for the effort. There's also a mod that marks them all on the map and tells you what they require too which I use as well.
Is the Christmas event trigged by the date or the update? I know some games update the game to add the events then remove them afterward, but if not, then simply changing the computer's date will activate the event.
Yes, it should be easy to adjust the date, but be careful, adjusting the date will also cause problems for Windows if the date is asynchronous with various servers.
There's more Hard Drives than there are alternate recipes, not to mention a LOT of awful Alt recipes that you should never choose and therefore free up even more hard drives. Charcoal, Bio Coal, Rubber Concrete, Crystal Beacon. Just to name a few. Plus with beacons being removed... Eventually, that last one won't even exist anymore
