Both single player and on a server i play (not mine), rail segments keep ending up without power randomly forcing trains to stop until you rebuild that 1 segment even if it's a freshly placed one.
got several saves from back in 2022 loaded up a few days ago and they all have the rail issue somehow.
What you could do is to manually drive a train to your destination and check if there is a rail issue. If it can, its probably a signalling issue
But this means more space required and I'm not a fan of building in the sky. Truck stations and drone ports always fit anywhere but train stations never do.

The top station needs to be the one the train is currently at, next station below and so on. It doesn't matter which way any intermediate stations are pointing relative to either end station as long as the timetable reflects the arrival order.
No good:
/--<A-----B>---\
| |
\----------------/
Good:
/--<A-----<B---\
| |
\----------------/
If you want to run back'n'forth between A and B the stations are ok, but you need two engines, one at either end, facing outwards. Using multiple trains then requires the addition of signals, forcing the trains unto the appropriate directional track which you have to add as either sidings or full double track.
<A--\--S--------<ecce>---/---B>
\-x-<ecce>------S--/
(e=engine, c=car, S= signal, A&B stations with dir. ind.)
The latter layout has the inherent risk of deadlocking trains, meaning the trains can block each other and thus must be implemented carefully. The example can't work with 2 trains as shown bc the upper train will prevent the lower signal from clearing and vice versa. Adding ONE signal (x) on the beginning of ONE branch will solve this issue, But then the trains will run irregularly with different gaps between them. Adding another (x) in the opposite branch can help to run trains in regular intervals, but then again an out of schedule train can trap its predecessor in a station, causing disruptions
