Freight Station not loading
I'm trying to build a functioning trade route and I'm just testing manual back and forth routes. I'm trying to add freight to a train car but the station doesn't load. I check power that's fine the input line is working. I disassemble and reassemble a few times and notice that the line works fine until I connect the train track to the freight station then the line stops. I don't understand why this is happening. I am also unable to do the docking function once the train line is connected. I can only dock when the line is disconnected from the main track and is just the train station and the freight platform.

Make sure your train station isn't backwards. The sign should be facing OUT. And double check load / unload, and make sure the timetable is correct. You have to go 2 or so menus deep to change the train's timetable correctly, it's kind of over confusing for just 1:1 rails. All my trains work

Yea, above comment.

I've switched but that setting is only for loading the freight care not the depot itself.

Yeah, that is how it's supposed to be, you load or unload from the tractor/truck.
This button changes nothing on the conveyer ports on the backside.
If you unload the truck, use one or both of the output conveyers, if loading, use one or both the input counveyers. The 5:th conveyer input is the fuel for the truck/tractor as you can see by the fuel icon above the port...

One station can only unload OR load tractors/trucks, but you can use as many vehicles as you like.

Without screenshots, it could be all sorts of things.

Just a simple a checklist that isn't so obvious the first time around.
You have 1 Engine and 1 Freight Car?
You have 1 Train Station and 1 Freight Platform directly connected to each other?
They are facing the correct direction? (This is really easy to mess up)

The proper settings for load vs unload are set? You say only for the freight car, but a platform is either load or unload, not both. So if you're using it to import items, you can't use it for export. Any platform that sees a freight car is either going to take the load or ship one out.

It's a platform setting; the freight car doesn't have one,
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Kudos for marking the answer instead of just deleting the thread. Hopefully some other soul finds their solution here later on.

I didn't know the station had a direction.

lol no one does until they goof it up or the game changes the rotation on you. We've probably all have fought this same issue for a lot longer than we would care to admit. I built out an entire area with like 10 train stations and I think it took me 3 or 4 hours trouble shooting my rails and signals before I realized the station was backwards on every single one. :WH3_greasus_rofl:

The game has a learning curve that can get pretty steep at times.

You don't know how many hours I'm learning it the hard way in Update 7. It keeps saying it cannot reach the destination even though I can reach it manually. Took me a long time before I noticed that the Train station I put is backward lol.
