RIP steel coated plate
Apparently this recipe doesn't exist anymore, and assemblers using it just unassign themselves and do nothing. I was wandering around searching for SAM and checking out new 1.0 stuff, and found out when the nitric acid plant feeding the waste processing for my nuclear setup stopped working, which ended up causing a big waste backup and destroying my whole power grid. I think I'll just try to reload an earlier save and get ahead of it.

I think it still exists. But a ton has changed and you have been warned that things will break in your EA save if you use it in 1.0.

Do you have any source for this?

I have a creative world i blueprint in and can tell you there is:
Coated Iron plate
5 iron 1 plastic> 10 plates 75/ min

Steal Cast plate
1 Iron 1 Steel > 3 Plates 45/min

If that helps any lol

Discovered it gone in my game too, and if look on the wiki and production calculator sites (when set to v1.0), it's not there. Was an unexpected surprise, was aware the production chain for computers had radically changed, and CSS did note some other recipes were being tweaked/changed, but yeah, I missed the memo about recipes being outright yoink'ed. (With so much info flowing out in the last couple weeks, likely I just missed it).

There is "Coated Iron Plate" (5x Iron Ingot + 1x Plastic), so basically substitutes Iron Ingots for the previous Steel Ingots, however I've not yet gotten to crunching the numbers on how much of an impact to volumes of ingots/ore required that all makes.

There you go:

Alt. recipe for it.
Also I remember to have seen it in one of my harddrive scans.

The alternatives use quite a lot more iron ore overall, but iron plates don't seem to be a huge bottleneck anywhere (for me at least).
I did like the convenience of not needing to belt both iron and steel around as input into modular frames or nuclear processing.

That's not the same recipe, as noted above

Did you miss the one where it clearly says "Steel coated plate"? It still exists.

Patch 1.0:

- Introduced Steel Cast Plate recipe
- Removed Steel Coated Plate recipe

Coated Iron Plate:

- Changed recipe craft time from 12 to 8 seconds
- Changed Iron Ingot cost from 10 to 5
- Changed Plastic cost from 2 to 1
- Changed Iron Plate product from 15 to 10

In short, the alt recipe has been split into two different ones, one that uses plastic and one that uses steel.

It basically has been renamed to Steel Cast Plate. So it is still there.

There might be a bit crossed lines here, maybe ppl talking about two different things?

Not correct to say the now removed "Steel Coated Plate" just got renamed to "Steel Cast Plate", as Steel Coated Plate was Steel Ingots+Plastic, whereas the Steel Cast Plate is Steel+Iron Ingots, however there is now also Coated Iron Plate, which is Iron Ingot+Plastic.

So in summary, the removed alt recipe was Steel+Plastic -- now there's alt recipes that are either Iron Ingots+Plastic or Steel+Iron Ingots.
