Quartz cave on 1.0 map?
On the forest map with lots of water, it seems the only sources of quartz that I've found are underground. After circling the rock formations several times, a cave entrance that leads to the 3 or so quartz nodes is still elusive.

Normally I like to find these myself, but I give up! Where is the cave entrance?

Edit: Here be spoilers

The western and northern entrances are the easiest to find

The one I found had the cave entrance by the water... or at least, the cave entrance I found.

Not sure if it's the same one though.

Pretty sure this is the place you're talking about. This is a screenshot of the eastern cave entrance between the 4 coal nodes near it (belts coming out of cave). I think there are one or two more to the north and west, but I never went that far. Fkn spiders.....

So far I've found 5 quartz.... all in caves or in canyons accessible from caves or partial caves..

There's quarts right on the ponds (on the surface) in the forest bottom of the map.

Easy as pie to get to.

Thanks. I had no idea that the caverns would so expansive and the entrance(s) so far away from the resource nodes. Ironically, I can see the east opening from my base...

There’s a big quartz cave the starts right near the old god spot in the northern forest. If you go to where that spot normally does steel just to the east (4 coal/1 iron/1copper/1lomestone) there’s the cave entrance just underneath where the iron is. Leads to like 4 quartz and a Sam node.

Why not skip the (presumed) near Quartz and go to one far far away and bring it back to your base?

You have the entire map to play.

I couldnt find a sam node in the blue crater.
I had to dive over the edge of the map to find the entrance :)

There was an entrance right next to my coal generators, but I only found that out when exiting the cave after spending probably an hour to finding a way in.. Could see my generators in the cave opening as I came out and thought to myself "now that is funny"..

I had the same question! Could not find the entrance(s). Thank you for posting and answering.
