What happened to the old stairs?
The ones that went up ~4m, then had a landing. There was a left and right version, they could tile, too. Where did those go? I wanted to use them and the new stairs are too big. I can't find them in the AWESOME shop.

I never even noticed they were gone. Maybe a later unlock? But hard to imagine that because those stairs were pretty crappy. I think only one time ever did I build a building and they magically fit perfectly from top to bottom and hit the correct floors on the correct side of the stairs. :WH3_greasus_rofl:

While I hated almost everything about those stairs, I'd be disappointed to see content removed, and, they have admittedly been handy once or twice.

those stairs were horrible, it made me dizzy going up on a spiral staircase

Those stairs definitely didn't go up 4 meters, only 1 or 2.

Those were legacy models, and they're awful. Way too small and impractical. Modular catwalks easily replace them and are much more convenient. I'm glad they're gone.

New stairs are too big...? Since you played during the old stairs era, surely you must know by now that this game is all about building BIG? My general rule of thumb is always add an extra 2~3 foundations on top of the amount I think I need.

A machine almost fits on a 1x1 foundation, so I'd need 2 to fit it all the way and an extra foundation for conveyors? (so total of 3), I'll build a space of 4 or 5 foundations for it. Just to make sure I'll have room for all the alignment and organization I want, and for possible future infrastructure going through. Same goes for stairs. Technically you can make a spiral staircase in a 3x3 area with them. But I'll go 4x4 instead to make sure I have all the space I need.

And who cares about the catwalk stairs taking up more space? It's incredibly easy and fast to build MASSIVE structures in this game anyway.

Yeah, but sometimes you want the small decorative stairs that coil nicely and form a nice spiral. Regardless, they didn't need to be REMOVED.

Yeah, sad to see them go. They were handy early on even if going up them made you dizzy.

If you load up an old save with those left/right stairs, they are still there.

I didn't think about it at the time, but maybe you can copy them with MMB, then put them into a blueprint, save the blueprint, move the blueprint file to your new 1.0 world, and load it in, can someone try this?

Dude those stairs were ♥♥♥♥

Once placed them, removed them a second later, terrible stairs. Loved the catwalks (the metal old fashion looking one, the other is 'a bit to width' to fit well) and who uses stairs when you have hypertubes!

They are still there if you are using an old save that had them unlocked. They just arent available to unlock anymore by the looks of it. They have minimal use though honestly, too narrow and if you pillar up the middle to block the shin breaker fall of multi level use, then you just get dizzy and kiss walls the whole way up / down

Yes, but they were compact and you could slide down them.

Do kinda miss them, but not a serious loss. Switched to using the other stair types and while not quite as compact, they are WAY more flexible and easy to use.

Removing them was a step in the right direction.
