How to rotate on different axis?
I'm trying to rotate the pipeline junction cross so that the openings are vertical. Is this possible when placing them individually?

Should be. It was last time I was placing pipes. Just rotate it like anything else.

Oh, wait, you can only rotate it to be vertical if putting it on an existing pipe.

Yeah for Vertical Cross pipes lay a Pipe directly under the location where you what it .
Then You can Rotate it.
I also Suggest placing a cross pipe next to the pipe so you can use CTRL to snap the cross pipe perfectly inline with the foundation/pipe floor hole.
without doing this it's free-form and can be even so slightly off.

Or place a wall and snap to that

What really annoys me is that can't snap the junction to pipeline supports.
If you place a pipe down, you have to remove the support on the end before you can attach the junction (and now someone is probably going to tell me a trick to doing it that I completely missed :steamhappy: )

Drag a pipe until one meter before the place you want your vertical junction cross.
Build the pipe.
Remove the pipelline support.
Select the junction cross and aim at the end of the pipe.
It should snap in the desired location now and can be rotated vertical.

This works very well indeed. And walls can be nudged since Update 8.

Why under? IIRC I build the pipe I wanna use and then simply attach the cross and rotate it.

I dont get this visually. I suppose if you have a floor hole you can attach the cross junction directly on it, and then simply build a pipiline to the cross.

I don't think you can, and I wouldn't want it directly on the floor hole anyway.
for some reason the cross junction will not snap to the floor hole above it when on the pipe, so I put a junction next to the pipe and then snap the real junction on the pipe next to the one I placed temporarily. the wall method works too.

- What I meant: Snap cross first on top of floor hole, and then attach the pipe.

can't visualize that :steamsad:

I can never get this to line up prefect

So I do this
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3189595655
I can now use ctrl to snap to the other cross junction

If I want pipe junctions at specific positions, where I can't use ctrl to snap, I will place the junction first, using a temporary wall or stack of foundations to achieve the desired height.

It had also occurred to me that you could create blueprints for that too.

The game really needs full 3 axis rotation and nudging. For most things there are workarounds but they can be a lot of work.

That is true.

After a while we learned workarounds but I am a bit astonished that such things are still unresolved. I am no coder but I don't think it's that complicate. horizontal nudging is already implemented, it helps a lot, I would assume that from horizontal to vertical nudging it's just a small step code-wise.

I tried to make blueprints last week. even enabled AGS flight mode ... but eventually it drove me crazy. Some lifts are working, some lifts in similiar situations are not connecting ... even after replacing the nice "glass roof" - which I used as foundaments (yes, not supposed to) - with regular concrete foundaments.
