TODO List Not Showing up

I'm probably just not checking a box somewhere, but when I select to add something to the TODO list, it doesn't show up.

I see all the other prompts on the screen for whatever else I interact with, but for whatever reason, the TODO list doesn't show up on the screen anymore.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Open character inventory
Hover mouse cursor over right side of screen until it turns a little dark
Left Click
Go to where it says recipes, then
click it to Restore [from minimized].

This got me as well! I thought my game was bugged. This worked perfectly

On the topic, is there a hotkey assigned to bring up the To Do list?

I have not been able to find anything in the key assignments. In particular, if there is nothing in the To Do list from a material collection standpoint, I would like to edit my notes and private messages to myself and it seems a bit clunky how I have to back into it.

Actually, as I read and see what McCloud is talking about. That answers my question as well! ...but wow, that is not at all an intuitive UI design.
