Is there a way to view building from 3rd person or isometric?

There's no 3rd person or isometric or top-down view.

But you can build a tower and stand on it to look down, and later you can unlock a hoverpack.

or you can just add a mod. I have found the mod 'Just Fly' to be my preferred.

Use Ctrl to snap foundations to the world grid, then use foundations to snap buildings.
