Get some alt recipes. Cast screw is a pretty good one (same iron:screw ratio but you can go directly from ingots to screws) or Steel Screws (lots of screws) or get alt recipes that eliminate screws from the equation.
The rest is coming down to calculating your lines.

You have a couple choices. You either set up more machines making rods and screws (lots more machines). Or you find the steel screw recipe, trust me once you find this recipe on a hard drive your only problem with screws will be running the belts that can carry that many screws.

imho finding that cast screw recipe early on is a godsend

Finding the cast screws recipe alongside the stitched iron plate (which replaces screws with wire in reinforced iron plate) really helped me out in releasing the screws bottleneck in production.

As mentioned, two great options with Alt recipes:

1. Steel screws, makes making screws a lot more effective.
2. Everything with screws in the recipe, have an alt one that do not use screws, you can get all of them and not need screws.

What of those you choose to go for is totally up to you, you can stick with the normal recipes too, but its in my opinion worse than both those two options above.

Consider this: conveying rods is 4x faster than screws, should you need to desaturate your supply lines...

steel rod into screw more machines and power, less resource consumed
steel beam into screw, less machines, less power, more resource consumed
alternates: no need for screw
if screw remains in the recipe produce directly before consuming machine

lets stop screwing around and make steel screws

Screw you, I won't make any screws.

Not quite true, you can get alt recipes for steel ingots, alts for the items needed for alt steel ingots. The combination of which can turn very few resources with slightly more power into massive output. E.G alt diluted iron ingot, with alt iron ingot to steel ingot or alt coke steel ingot. Makes the resources needed for steel beams super cheap.
I just make a few extra to save from my reinforce iron plate production, and send them off for storage/sinking. That's all the screws I'll need for personal use for the rest of the game. Every subsequent production line will make exactly as many screw as it needs.

Oh you will be so happy when you get the stitched iron plate alt recipe. Not only do you not need screws for that but you also need less iron and just a bit of wire to get quite a lot of reinforced iron plates out of the deal.
It is one of the alt recipes that I deem essential.

I prefer Adhered Plate in combination with steel coated plate. Takes time to setup but there is nothing better once it runs.
Neither is relevant that early into the game. Every alternate recipe is welcome in production lines to come, but once it's built, it's built. I don't redo working factories. Got too much to do.
