bauxite and modular engines
how do you get bauxite on the V scanning? and how do you build modular engine when it doesn't show up in the Manufac. I have done to level 6 in the MAM

Bauxite unlocks at tier 7 in the hub.

Modular Engine unlock Tier 5 Industrial Manufacturing and is made in the Manufacturer.
kLuns 15 DIC 2022 a las 2:31 p. m.
check the progression in the hub. If Tier 7 &8 are locked you can't find bauxite.
Once industrial manufacturing is unlocked you should be able to make modular engines with a manufacturer

I found 1 Bauxite node approximately 1000 meters above the only 4 oil nodes on the entire map ( so far ) It took me about 6 hours of real time to construct a switch back stairway going virtually straight up a mountain side, then an enclosed walkway to protect me from the herd of elephant sized plasma spitters and a spider the size of my tractor. Oh and the area is also irradiated with numerous uranium clumps. Note: Not uranium nodes that can be mined, just radiation areas.

Bauxite has only one purpose and that is to make aluminum solution which is used to make aluminum scrap. Said scrap, when combined with Silica creates aluminum ingots in a foundry.

Said aluminum ingots can then be used to make aluminum casings used in a few much needed items as well as alcaid aluminum sheets which have virtually no use aside from the top of the line Mark 5 conveyors.

Use the bauxite nodes in the titan forest.
Otherwise get the sloppy alumina and pure Aluminium ingot alt recipe. Removes the silica from the whole thing.

Those areas are caused by deposits which CAN be mined. Altouth I advice to stay away untill you have hazmat + iodine filters.

Removing silica entirely makes a little bit less ingots. I will mix some silica into aluminium production depending on how much quartz I need for other projects.
The difference is 1/6.
You get 2 out of 3 with silica
You get 1 out of 2 without silica
It's a little nitpick but mixing a little silica with the scrap provides the max production of both alumina and quartz products.
Sloppy Alumina and Electrode Scrap provide the most scrap per bauxite, sacrifice a little bit of oil.

Yes, it is 10% less ingots you get (so Bauxite:Aluminium Ingot being 100:90) when using this combination (sloppy alumina + pure aluminium ingot). It however makes the whole process much easier and it doesn't need any oil node and/or quarz node nearby.

I am way beyond that point, not to mention I have no idea where the titan forest is :D
I have so much alcaid aluminum that I am dumping roughly 5000 into the amazing sink every hour. Built my first nuclear reactor and tied it into my grid. I pulled 2 of my 4 coal powered generators offline. Still have 6 oil fired generators, 2 thermals and now my own 3 mile island with all radiation anyone could dream for lol

I built the uranium processing plant, the the reactor containment building and the reactor. Added in the nuclear waste processing facilities. Reactor is currently running at default setting of 2500 MW. So total output ( not optimized as I never bother ) is 7400 MW

My main issue is what to do with all the darn plastic and alcaid sheets. lol

In that case I haven't said anything.

Also the Titan Forest is pretty much north of the Grass Field. When you get to a forest with big trees then you are very likely there.
