New minimum system requirements with UPD8 ?
Till UPD8 i can play the game with more ore less problems with my 2GB vram.
3650 hours of gameplay till now ...

But now with UPD8(exp) the graphics look very poor :(.I doctored around with the graphics settings (DX11, DX12, min and max graphic settings) ... but no effect.
The graphics looks very poor :(.

Old Systemrequiremens for the game are like this:
VIDEO CARD: Dedicated graphics card, GTX 770 2GB
DEDICATED VIDEO RAM: 2048 MB

Requirements now are:
Grafik: Nvidia GTX 1650/GTX 1050-ti, or AMD RX 470/RX 570, or equivalent performance & VRAM

I dont want to buy a new laptop just to play satis when they update the engine to Unreal5 ...
Is this the End after 3600 hours playtime ...?? :)
Round about 25% of the steamusers have not enough vram to play the game ,,,

The experimental is not over yet, the graphics requirements and what it's able to show are still changing.

You will not be able to play this game on 2 GB VRAM anymore. Unreal 5 requiers atleast 6 GB VRAM to load textures. If you have less, you out of luck.

The minimum requirements is not what you need to barely launch the game but what you need to play in an acceptable quality. You can play the game with less than the minimum requirements but it won't neccessarily be an okay quality.

That is the case for this game.

Jace stated that 4GB should be enough, hence the minimum specs.

Thank you.
The differences you can see in this two pictures. First UPD7 with DX11 medium setting, the second the best what i have optimized in UPD8 with Unreal5:

I can only hope that they can optimize something until the final update 8 ... :)

How do we know whether we are running the game with the new update? The only difference I notice from a few days ago is an occasional brief hesitation when sprinting.

Update 8 isnt released yet. You only get it on test/beta branch. Did you change to that branch? If not, you still run 7.
Also 8 get a fancy red stripe in the corner - see screenshots above.

This is the nature of EA and it all depends on what the devs are trying to accomplish. That said, just because hardware requirements increase doesn't mean you will need to match them for the full experience. It's unlikely they have tested every hardware combination out there. On top of frame rate and resolution combinations. Not everyone needs 4k 120 fps.

If the menu screen (from which you load your save) is saying "Experimental" then you are on Update 8. Otherwise you are on Update 7.

Well, since you are using a GPU that is below the new minimum specs you will have to accept sacrifices in quality (both FPS and graphics) when playing the game in Update 8 and onward.

This is really a heavy stroke of fate :)
If you look at the hardware statistics, at least I'm not alone here. It's a pity.

I have a funny feeling you will end up buying the new laptop or a more powerful used one.
One does not simply stop playing Satisfactory :P

Cleanest solution for people who can no longer run the game would be to offer them refunds. It's the only way you can know that you haven't sold anyone a product that wanted based on facts you told them, but turned out to be useless because those facts were retroactively falsified.

As someone that had to game on a old laptop for a few years, I feel for you. One of the reasons I built a desktop out of mostly secondhand parts. Was to get something little more upgradable over time. Not as convenient if you are on the go a lot though.
