Steam Cloud Sync Issues
Hello!

I'm having a problem with Steam Cloud Sync. For the past few weeks, Satisfactory has been stuck on "Sync/Upload" in the cloud status for a very long time. Sometimes for 10 minutes, sometimes for hours. In the Steam library, there's a "Cloud Error" icon next to Satisfactory. Eventually, it switches to "Up to Date" and I can finally start Satisfactory. I don't understand what's going on. The only recent change I made was switching from Windows 10 to 11 Pro (a complete reinstall, not an upgrade). Has anyone experienced this issue?

I already had the game checked for errors, and I’ve also significantly reduced the number of savegames. Although in the past, I had many more and larger savegames—without any cloud issues. My internet connection shouldn't be a problem either. I have fiber and 300 Mbit up/down.

Best regards,
Andre

That's a steam issue - nothing to do with Satisfactory. I would check the number of saves you have; things like that.

If I remember right, when that happened to me. I picked one computer; turned off cloud syncs - started the game, saved and then exited - let the sync happen. Repeat on every computer.... (EDIT: It happened on BG3 for me.... After I had reset my computer.

EDIT 2: This hasn't happened to me since I started using OneDrive - though could be coincidence.... But, I created a folder for each computer (main, secondary, gamer, gamer-old, etc...) - then added a documents and desktop folder in each one. Then on each of those computers, I pointed OneDrive to each individual folder (based on the machine). After that, I created a hard symbolic link for certain folders (like my saves for satisfactory (and BG3, Dragon Dogma 2, Soulmask, etc....) so everything is not only backed up with the Steam cloud - it's backed up on OneDrive as well....)

And whatever you do, backup your saves, because if Steam Cloud is freaking out there is a risk of losing saves.

I don't know why, but it solves itself... I tried many tipps, but nothing worked. The only change I've maid was playing once with enabled VPN. But I don't think this was the solution. Perhaps I've missed the installation of an steam update after boot, which fixed the issue.

Thank you for your help!

Probably unrelated, but steam syncs will fail if your computer's clock is not set to the correct date/time.
