I need help PREVENTING update 1.1!
"What why? The update looks so good!" is what your saying right now, but you know how it is. I got some mods loaded in 1.0 that I just can't play without. Specifically Praydog's UEVR & Dortamur's UEVR Enhancements Mod because despite this game not being made for VR, THIS GAME WAS MADE FOR VR! Seriously, I've put almost 40 hours into this game in just 5ish days. I simply CANNOT lose my VR capability. I Know there is something I can do with moving the directory or something or other, but I haven't seen it explained precisely step by step how to do it. i need to know exactly how to keep the game from getting updated while also still being able to play 1.0 with my mods until the mods get updated. Thanks a ton in advance!

I would more recommend that you check the modding discord to see if the mods work in experimental (which will be 1.1) or not.

without an engine upgrade mods usally dont break or are fixed within a day, also you could just not play on experimental and wait till it will official release, at that point mods should work

1.1 Will go on experimental and is opt-in
No changes for you If you are on default branch and hadn't opten-in
The VR mod is generic for UE5 games. Since it's not built specifically for Satisfactory 1.0, I would be surprised if 1.1 breaks it (though it would likely need reinstalling).
I don't know for sure though.

Right, but the UEVR enhancements mod does all the motion controls and VR controller support, so with 1.1 adding official controller support I am expecting new problems.

Oh, i didn't know 1.1 would be an experimental update. So if i don't choose to install the experimental 1.1 patch nothing will happen to my game? Also, how long do Coffee Stain typically have an update in experimental before rolling out the official updates?
1.1 isn't coming out for a good while yet - its just the Beta test (Experimental Branch)

But be warned - as someone who uses mods - you accept the fact your going to have issues - so if you want to avoid them - you need to talk to the modders and get them to update their stuff.

Generally any modder who gives a damn will have a update at or a few days after the update.

Besides that - this is the hazard you accept - good luck.

Atleast 1 Month some big Updates with Engine Update where even longer. I think they want it release before Summer Vacation but we have to see

I have yet to get feedback on if this works, but I dug this up once and have yet to try it

How to stop game update (appmanifest method)
1- Browse local files of the game.

2- Go up a couple folders to the steamapps folder. >steamapps</common/The Witcher 3

3- Find appmanifest_292030 and set it to read only.

You can find appid's by observing the storepage urls like:

I think Satisfactory is 526870?

Don't even need to do that, the app id is in the discussion url for the game between the app and discussions
