Train refueling animation seems bad, is this a bug or how it is?
When a train freight car has tankers on it that don't completely empty at one station, and it goes back to the prior station to refill, the train station animation doesn't put the partially filled tanker back into the freight box on the platform to fill, instead, the platform picks up the tanker box (that's a part of the freight platform building) and touches the bottom to the top of the tanker...is that intended or is it a bug? Seems kind of goofy for a game that otherwise has a decent amount of attention to detail in many other areas.

Every so often the animation gets funny funny with my freight cars - but its still doing its job - even if it doesn't quite look the part.

Basically it will do the job regardless - even if it looks like it's not.

That's the intended animation. The same animation gets used for (non-fluid) freight in the same situation (there's already some loaded and it's just adding more when loading...or when the platform can't accept all of the freight when unloading). It makes more sense when it's non-fluid. I assume they just didn't bother making a slightly different animation for fluid cargo, and honestly I'm not sure what the animation would look like if they made one. What's supposed to be happening is that potentially 1599m^3 of fluid is being dumped from one container to another in about 2 seconds. I don't know how you'd make an animation for that activity that would look realistic.

Fluid cars seem like a bit of an afterthought in general though. Apparently they were added in later, after trains had been in the game for a while. You can get more capacity by packaging the fluids and putting the packages in a boxcar, which makes no sense. They never went back and added fluid trucks either.

my initial thought when i saw this was why doesnt it just do the same animation as the initial load by putting the tanker back in the box, and making some kind of glugging noise, and taking it back out. that's literally what i was expecting to see to be honest lol sans the noise; i dont really 'need' that. the alternate is just there being a refill port on the side of the boxes that line up with one on the tanker for refilling. it doesn't have to be super realistic just not so game-y. at the end of the day, it doesnt matter all that much, i would even go so far as to say it's kind of a nitpick born out of enjoyment of the game.

No wonder I can't get anything done - all the dopamine's just started playing with trains and having minor gripes!

Stop eating yourself!
