How disable Auto Exposure?
Hi. I've been playing Satisfactory for a long time, and my eyes are unbearably tired from Auto Exposure. As seen in the first screenshot, when a bright light source enters the field of view, the overall brightness drops to an indistinguishable level. If you remove this object from view, the brightness returns to normal. I spent some time searching for information on this issue on the UE5 forum and found that the parameter r.DefaultFeature.AutoExposure might be responsible for this. I tried setting it in the console using r.DefaultFeature.AutoExposure 0, but it didn't work. Please help; my eyes are exhausted from the constant brightness changes...
I’d like to point out that this issue doesn’t depend on my monitor. Applications running in the background don’t change brightness, so this must be an in-game setting or a UE5 parameter configuration.

I tested this by swapping my RTX 3060 for an RTX 4080 — the effect remained the same. Logically capping the FPS to a "ceiling" didn’t help either. The GPU and image rendering are working as expected.

Do you have an OLED monitor?

OLED monitors have improved greatly over the years and handle higher nit output better now then they did years ago. OLED TVs also have an auto dim feature that is usually on by default to save on potential burn in.

I turned my gamma down, and that stopped my flashlight and the rest of the game from burning my eyes...

Isnt this usually called high dynamic range, or HDR? Sort of a simulation of what your eyes do, seeing a bright light dims the whole image to compensate for the brightness, then it lightens up again when everything is dark.
I have an OLED widescreen without HDR (would never enable that) and I never experience this "Auto Exposure". It must be something on the OP's side and not something associated with Satisfactory.

I would probably first check graphics card driver settings and for sure disable anything with HDR, automatic brightness, bloom, etc.

This is that new glow effect setting they added in 5. Turn that on and off in video settings. I personally like the moody dark.
