Adding something into the blueprint maker
Hi all, I’ve never played a game like this before so I had no idea what to expect going in but I’ve since become pretty obsessed with it! It’s so good and all day/night all I can think about is how I can make new factories/setups and conveyor systems etc. so good

I was trying to make something and get a mini factory working that I could then make modular. I managed to finally get it how I wanted after a long time and then realised I never built it in the blueprint maker (what an idiot). Is there any way to copy it into the blueprint maker/copy an area or am I ♥♥♥♥ out of luck and need to rebuild it from scratch?

Unfortunately no, there is no way (in the base game at least) to copy a build into a blueprint.

However you can build a blueprint template thing nearby and just 1-1 copy what you already built, using the working one as a reference.
Yeah its kind of annoying - its why you have to build what you want copied into the blueprint machine to be able to copy it.

But you only need to build it once in that machine at least.

If your design is good enough you make a blueprint in your head.
Thats kinda what i usually do. I build the thing, see how it will work, what goes where. then i replicate in the blueprint designer, and then do whatever adjustments needed to make them fit together when placing them. Like my train highway for the sections used to make curves, i dont include the framework, and just place the beam connectors on them, so i can very easily build the beams to link the frames together.
Thanks all, it’s my own fault and oversight that I forgot to build it in the blueprint maker in the first place! Guess I’ll plonk it down next to it and then gradually recreate it. Not the end of the world but at least I know now for future builds!
The way I do it this - make a mini something that you want to do, like a line of constructors on one end, connect them to power, connect them to splitters/mergers, save the mini-blueprint, you can later add it into a certain subcategory

Then add another piece, save the blueprint etc

You can then re-use these pieces if you need to make a different second floor of your blueprint or some other stuff

Hope it was of help))
