Escape key problems
My esc key doesn't seem to want to work. It did work just fine in this game before 1.0 and it still works perfect in all other games but here I have to hit it many times in hope of getting the pause menu. The pause menu seems to work perfect if I use a controller with steam's option to add controller support. Also, I use to be able to get out of any menu with it but now it is a hit and miss kind of thing. :ScaryZombies:

You should be aware - there's no such thing as "pause" in this game. (At least in legitimate terms)

Even if you bring up the menu - it won't stop the game.

Now technically there's a pause command of sorts in the console - but I'm not even sure if its still there or not. Last time I even used it was back during Update 5? That was ages ago.

But bottom line - pause is not a thing in this game.

Check your key bindings - maybe something is overriding it.
But keep in mind - it's not really a "pause"
Same thing happening to me with copy/paste "V" key. v works fine for me here, just not in game, so I hit it many times in order to work and then it works.
"Pause" thing aside (I'm assuming they mean bringing up the menu overlay) - are you experiencing issues with the key when it's pressed using other applications?

You could also try downloading a key logger just to check that when you press the key, there's something sent/received by your PC (which would help rule out the keyboard itself being an issue).

I find this (in my experience) is usually due to the thing I'm wanting to past settings on not being "highlighted" so it's something I can interact with. Still annoying, though.

Ok, what is the issue? Not getting the menu/options screen?
As stated Pause isn't a thing here short of opening the console (with `~ key) and typing pause.

I hear you, and to be more clear on my situation, the copy/paste function works great for a few machines, then stops working, so I have to double tap (or more) to get it to work. Then I can run along copy pasting several more machines, then suddenly v stops working and have to double tap again. It could be lag for me so no worries on my behalf, just thought it was kind of a coincidence his esc key doing the same. cheers!

I've heard of controllers or other input devices causing interference in this regard - make sure you don't have something stuck or causing some sort of "spamming" to interfere with commands.
The Escape key being flaky has been a thing for a LONG time. Open up the interface for a machine. type in a new over/under clock or set rate of production, press Enter and the Escape key wont work for many, if any, presses. Click in the machine interface and the escape key works just fine again.
