Coal generator help
Hi! I build my fourth coal generator facility last night with the same setup as my other three, but this one isn't getting enough water intake in some of the generators so I'm coming here to understand why. Thank you in advance for your help!

The setup:
I have 8 coal generators all in a row with three water extractors. All of the 8 generators connect into a single horizontal pipe at even intervals. The water extractors connect into the same pipe in between every two generators (between 2/3, 4/5, and 6/7). The head lift is less than 5m and I've tried pumps and no pumps.

The problem:
The two generators at each end aren't getting hardly any water intake while the four in the middle are completely filled up. This issue hasn't occurred with any of my other identical setups. I've tried flushing a few times. I'm mostly interested in understanding the problem completely so I'm hoping you all can help me with some ideas!

Thank you!

First thing I would do is delete the pipes starting at the non-functioning generators and move toward the pumps. I am guessing you maybe just have a bugged water pipe and reconnecting it will solve the problem. If it is design related, a picture will help the Satisfactory Pro Sleuths.

Water will "eventually" get there (sometimes)
but when I deal with water, I usually prime it (start it first to get a full pipe) before starting the fuel consumption with coal.

That said, make sure the the water pipe are not "join" with other pumps (isolate each one)
first thing that came to my mind - and you've almost certainly done that but it never hurts to ask - have you given your water extractors enough time to fill up everything? center gens being full kinda sounds like there's just not been enough water put into the system to fill up everything yet...

oh, and even more obviously but I've done that to myself... all three extractors are powered, yes? :D

Yup.. this happens to me too ;) but I gave up trying to troubleshoot liquid "live" when you are in production. I just start the process and make sure the water reaches the destination and "full pipe" then start it (release the coal in this case)
hit the stand by button on the generators that aren't full and wait for the tanks to fill - then power them back up again.

If that doesn't work - you'll need to post screenshots of your layout to confirm.

Feel free to check my profile - I use the 3:8:120 formula on my coal gens just like you. Got screenshots etc.
Y'all this worked. I needed to turn off the generators that were full to allow the others to fill up. Thanks so much! I'm very new to this game and that was driving me nuts. I appreciate yall.
yay :) another way to do it would be to very temporarily shard up one of the extractors, just so there's that little bit of extra water in the system

Yeah Coal gens timing of how much water they eat and extractors pushing is a bit off - its why its best to let the tanks fill before you spin them up.

I've lost count at how many times I've had to reboot the coal gens due to my "Accidently" a pipe or something. XD

Yay!! I have rebuilt my "train city" many time and I STILL do this sometimes (with many fluid) I have to make sure it is primed before we go. yes, it can work, but then you get "sputtering" cause fluid... is fluid.
