Build limits vs Map borders
I was wanting to build a train track around my map that went all the way around the map so I started from my hub and platformed out toward the nearest edge. When I checked the map, I saw that I had about a dozen platforms past the edge of the map. I remember when I started this world after 1.0 dropped, I swam to the edge of the map and died. Is there a way to find the edge of the map without multiple suicides?

My vision for this is a level platform that is the same height as the highest point that intersects the map edge with a wall on the foundations to prevent accidentally falling off into the death void. It's a very basic train rail that I want to set up, but if there was some way to know the minimum and maximum X and Y parameters for living, that is what I am looking for.

Barring that, maybe a suggestion to the developers to do what Minecraft does and have the "wall" that you can't step past or build past.

You start getting damage as you go past border or height

Also border isn't a square or rettangle
There's alot of images/info out on the net about this.
But it seems to be consistent.

This was someones read on it as 1.0 dropped.
They tend to not change the map too much so it should be accurate.

There's also a blueprint out there someone made where they dropped power poles to warn you that your too close to the barrier.
a better image than reddint.... and updated to 1.0.4

The 'death border' is not a cuboid. On the x-y plane, it is polygon shaped.
Traveling beyond the edge of the damage border will reduce the pioneer's health at 5 HP/sec. When standing near a vertex of the map border, the damage rate is doubled as the pioneer receives the damage from 2 map borders at the same time.
Surrounding the damage border (marked red) is the instant death border which is located at some distance beyond that, it is located at all sides including the z-border.
The instant death border or "kill zone" is limited in size and can be passed through using Trains or Hypertube after which the pioneer stops taking damage CREDIT: Reddit Member u/AlguienAlgo.[11][12]
Pioneers can further build out 100 meters beyond the death border while staying within the border. Buildings are not be damaged by this border. While in a vehicle the pioneer is immune to out-of-bounds damage.
