this means, iam into a new game, and deleted my old save file and iam not able to research ...
iam kinda new to this game ... and yea, this is kinda ruining all the fun now, beacuse i was on phase 2 on my former game

Are you talking Milestones or MAM research here?

Milestone Tiers unlock with Phase completion
During onboarding you have to do one milestone at a time.
After Onboarding you gain access to Tier 1 and 2
Completing Phase 1 unlocked tier 3 and 4

MAM Research require unlocking the MAM (Tier 1 Field Research)
Then you need to find and collect and item from that tree to start the research.
Kill a Hog, Spitter, Stinger or Hatchery unlocked the Alien Fauna
Nuts Berries and Mushrooms unlock anouther

Quartz, Sulfur, Mycelia, Caterium, ETC. unlock the their research tree
i researched alot in my previous game, and got even close to completing it ... the MAM
but now i can not even research at all
things only show up if you find the main thing that discovers the mam section. so find caterium to open up the caterium section
So sections in the mam will be undiscovered until you find the thing that starts it off, once you have it unlocked then you can then select the top item and give it the ingredients its asking for and begin research on it.
oh maaaaaan, youre right, that was it ....
i was running past so much things, with the attitude, dont need it yet, so it ignored it ...
no wonder, that i did not unlocked a single thing, when i never touched anything :D
not even plants for foor or animals

thanks alot bro :)

So again there's an issue because the devs assumed you would find something entirely on your own.

Without telling you that you need to.

Sounds like a problem that should've been caught by playtesting.

Sorry but a “true” gamer, new to the game, is going to collect one of these just out of curiosity, ADA is pretty clear on what you supposed to do with it.

I’m like hey wants that purple thing? Quartz? Let me grab that for later.
Boom ADA said take it to the MAM… so I did… that is pretty straightforward, and SOP for games, the gamer brain should be wired already for this…. COLLECT EVERYTHING.

There a lot things the game should but doesn’t tell you, but this isn’t one of them.

no not really ... but it was not the first time that i started the game, that was the issue, so i know most of it anyway, that was the reason, why i not touched it and was only rushing a base and ignoring all the rest completly :D

TBH I wish more games would leave things for the player to discover. This whole "Yellow Paint" thing is getting out of hand

Stop making excuses for your inability to pay attention to details.

Yea thats kinda how it works if you expect to have a playerbase of functioning humans with brains.

Also you dont need any of it, or if its needed later on its included in the milestones.

Again you show your potential age and lack of understanding what a sandbox game is. Sandbox games do NOT hold your hand nor do they feed you with a silver spoon.

Sad thing of it is - all he had to do was PAY ATTENTION to what was going on.

generally its not hard to discover them...if you see them they appear out of place and if you get close to check them out there is a prompt to press E to mine or pick up the thing. So the game really does guide you to get these items if you encounter them b ut in subtle ways. its not like you walk up to something and never see a press E to collect prompt but are just expected to know you have to press E. IT literally tells you what to do and encourages exploration even int he early game.

also in terms of play testing..we have been playtesting this since update 1 under early access. its a very very very well playtested game. tested by all us who not only didnt get paid for playtesting we had to pay for the privilege to be playtesters. And I enjoyed every minute of playtesting for coffee stain
