We need that disclaimer at the start of every multiplayer game :)
I have confidence that multiplayer will get better. Right now its seems ok but has a ways to go yet.
don't get me wrong a great game but if you don't even manage to stabilize a simple co-op or multiplayer connection............
Single player top, co-op or multiplayer the worst.
connection failed.
connected and disconnected seconds later.
I'm more worried about how certain forum admins do their job... try to find something in the forum with multiplayer or coop....
other questions crop up a dozen ways.
the devs should keep an eye on the forum administrators.
if serious, non-offensive criticism is deleted, the devs will never know what the community demands
Did you change network quality to "ultra" in settings? Everyone playing should have same setting.
That sounds more like a "host server" issue or a "connection quality" issue between players.
I played over 100hrs co-op with a family member over local wired network , and only once or twice did we have any issues.
Maybe the game's more sensitive to bad connectivity/iinternet; I can't speak for that since my time was over wired network in same building. But a lot of 3d games don't go well with bad connectivity. Especially so when both players can be altering world files constantly.
As far as "rented server" ..... this game is still early access - renting a server for an early access game is just asking for trouble :)
It's nowhere near optimized for a 24/7/365 uptime hosting environment.
there's hidden setting to allow for as many you want if server can handle it
from wiki:
How can I have more than four players in my server?
First and foremost, before implementing the answer provided here, note that the server is being tuned to be performant with the expected player cap of four. Increasing this limit may have ramifications with respect to server stability, performance, and resource usage.
That said, if you will wish to proceed with increasing the player limit, find the Game.ini file in your server's configuration directory (see above), and add this stanza to the top of the file (replacing the default of 4 with the desired player cap for your server):
[/script/engine.gamesession]
MaxPlayers=4
