New Physics for the Tractor

With the engine to UE5, Snutt said the vehicle driving experience should be about the same... It really isn't. God forbid I hold A for a quarter second too long, or the tractor will spin itself out. Without fail, and it doesn't happen when turning right.

I've disassembled and built a new tractor, and it will still happen. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Eh. The tires are pretty sticky, but it's fine to drive around the desert for me. I can't compare against how it was before Update 8 though.

Programmed tractors do not really obey normal physics. So you should be fine with them, the team specifically highlighted that programmed tractors will not be effected by new physics.

That much seems to be true, for the most part. I have two tractors carting Steel and Sulfur to Grasslands. They don't collide, except when they do. The new problem is now they'll yeet each other to the moon. They normally come back tho.

You're saying that you don't experience any differences when driving a tractor, or are you driving a truck? I don't have those yet, so I can't speak to their differences.

I have the same issue, constant spinning out. Using the tractor as transport in early game is frustrating faster to run.

I drove a tractor around in the desert last night before posting here to let you know my experience with the tractor. I have not driven a truck in game. I never drove the tractor pre-Update 8.

My tractor likes to dig its self into a hole with the one side. I then have to disassemble it to get it out.

Als the Explorer got castrated and downgraded in every single aspect.

The wheels lose constantly ground contact and the vehicle is buckling up, pirouetting and backflipping.

The turning radius got a lot worse.

The sound went from very enjoyable to plain dullness.

The trunk got smaller.

As big fan of Update 8 I have to say that this one section where they wrote "We improved all vehicles" is plain wrong. They made all vehicles much worse.

I actually just quit the game from how bad the tractors were. It was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Vehicles are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke this update. It's ruined my entire experience.

It has ben in differebt other discussions but in case you haven't seen it, this helps:

While the personal experience with vehicles is a lot worse, this does NOT influence it's automated behavior and logistical capability:

When players are not around they don't drive, they just spawn from waypoint to waypoint.

Is that really distracting you, if you don't see it?

I find it a pretty smart solution to save CPU and GPU power and to make sure, that random events like walking animals do not crash wit trucks and stopping the supply

Like, yeah, I get the whole "saving processing power" part...but to think about it kinda just spoils the experience for me.

It wouldn't be so bad, though, if it all just didn't sound like the devs saying "Driving issues? Oh-hohohoh! My dear child, they are only for YOU! Not the programmed CPU! All they shall do is teleport, while YOU must struggle with the new mechanics!"

I also dont understand why they worsen the drive mechanics and sold it on their website as "all vehicles got improved"
