Power lines
If you build power lines so always from a mast with a power line put a new one is the 2 always mk1 is there a possibility that it is built directly in mk3?

The number of connections per mark number of the power poles are:
MK. 1 = 4
MK. 2 = 7
MK. 3 = 10

For most of your power grid you would mainly need MK. 1 poles, the MK. 2 and MK. 3 poles are typically used in places where you need more cables connected.

By default it will place MK.1 poles when you drag a new line from an existing point, but you can upgrade that pole in place later on if needed (and you can downgrade poles the same way if you don't need the extra connections), this also applies to the single sided wall outlets when attaching cables to walls, under foundations, or ceilings (the double sided ones have to be manually placed every time)

The terminating pole built from a power connection is always the MK1 Pole, when you are just stringing cable, and the pole is auto built onto the end.
Currently there is no change the default pole choice to end a cable run.

The MK 1 pole is not replaceable when dragging power lines. You can put power poles to your hotbar and replace directly on building. It would be nice to change the standard.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know
There's also no limit on the number of mk.1 poles you can put somewhere, so the more advanced ones are essentially aesthetic.

I build almost only MK1 power poles one pole per machine nice and straight tidy now and then I need a MK2 but MK3 I would not know if I have ever installed.

You're welcome, and have a good day.

I tried to outsmart this one by not buying Mk1 Outlets, thinking dragging a wire to a wall would failover to Mk2. Denied! Womp womp.

It was worth trying :)

It was! Finally someone who understands ...

I do not understand it, for example, MK2 you need so rarely and MK3 would not know when I have ever needed.
Either you build spaghetti cables on a mast or you build nice straight cable masts for each machine a mast and you look through even in a few months what you have fabricated there.

The Wall Bus has double-sided power outlets at door level wired together on alternating sides (to balance available connections per side). Wherever the Wall of Belts goes power goes with it. Machines built close to the Wall Bus can wire directly into it.

As for spamming Mk1 power poles I don't like all those masts. I put power outlets on the ceiling so there isn't any ground clutter to block the machinery.

Your aesthetic choice I respect, though. I prefer fewer connectors with more wires per, but if that looks ugly to you there's no reason not to spam Mk1's everywhere -- but you can do that with ceiling outlets too.

Is correct Ceiling Connector I also like to use, but I build a lot of open without ceilings and whenever I have times Bock, I build a factory to, but then I also rather leave my masts.
I also expand my factories more often build modular anyway with splitter and fusionator and then I also just expand my power poles.

I like minimal poles and maximum wires. The last spot on a Mk 3 pole always goes out to a new Mk 3 pole for future expansion. I just cannot see the savings in a cluster of Mk 1 poles that are each using 2 of the 4 connections to allegedly expand the grid by only 2 more outlets with a much larger footprint than a single, or even 3, Mk 3 poles.

Here, each generator and each refinery has its own MK1 mast all nicely in a row there I would never knot with MK2 or even MK3 several machines that would fill for me wrong.
