Not to be rude or anything, but is this game dead?

I have like over 150 hours in this and have done everything available. Made some cool factories, dabbled in some mods, but find that this game only gets official updates twice a year that, tbh, don't really add that much. Is Coffee Stain just more focused on other projects like Deep Rock?

And no, the game is not dead. The next update is already on experimental, and they have more planned beyond that.

Many games have died in Early Access.

No, this game isnt dead. Update 8 is on Experimental and the devs, likely entire studio, recently returned from vacation.

The game is not dead when they come back from vacation will also come back more updates but rather small the game will get more bug fixes and small improvements so that the game can be released yet it is in development and CSS is so active and transparent there other developers can take a leaf out of their book do not understand that you think the game is dead.

Not dead just winding down for release IMO. Notice the focus is now on QOL things people have been asking for, for years. I don't see anything major coming other than that.

I was hoping for some actual end-game goal other than 'feeding the machine' but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

If the end goal is tied to the story then it won't come before 1.0 anyway.

Most factory builder games can be "completed" in an afternoon if you rush them. The goal isn't to complete them as quick as possible, but to build something. Like the Sims, or Cities Skyline...

The story line, SAM ore (probably), and the artifacts arent being finished until 1.0.
