Miner Mk1 placement invalidity

When I try to place the Miner Mk1, it says that the placement is invalid. It marks what it thinks is in the way, but what is in the way is the resource node itself. This simply means that the extraction point blocks the extractor, which is designed to extract from said extraction point.

most resources nodes have a rock on top that you have to hand mined off before you can place the miner.
other reason could is a animal is in way, at the time you tried to place it.
if that isn't it...
location of this said problematic node?

It might also be a dropped item or dropped creater remains on the node, which you have to pick up first.

Or, a giant cracked boulder blocking the node - this must be destroyed with explosives

there a lot of bugged rocks on nodes. You mine it, save the game. Load and it's back. Now it has to be mined again if you want to upgrade/ rebuild your miner.

It was indeed just me not knowing you actually have to mine the large rock in the middle. No I am not the smartest.

I've done the reverse several times. I know you need to clear the rock but I've been too blind to see there's still a rock on top. Several times. :(
