What does this mean for train signal
Sometimes when I place a train signal, it has a strange coloring - an off-white color. I can still interact with it, but there's no clue why it doesn't look right. Many times, but not all the time, when I replace it, it looks right. Is this a graphics bug or does the strange coloring actually mean something?

That's a graphical error/glitch.

Could be a cache problem or other.

yea I get that too. Its very annoying. They don't work properly when beige. I also have new problem. When I try to create a new intersection in train tracks, I cannot set path and block signals to setup the pathing on the intersection. The path and blocks dont ever stop flashing the yellow triangles no matter how much I fiddle with them. I am super certain I am placing them correctly. They just dont work properly. My new tracks are unuasble. The more I try to fix it, the worse it gets and creeps back into my existing tracks. Cant fix the signals anymore. gaaaa!

Screenshots?

You need path signals on all tracks leading into the junction, and block signals on all tracks leading out.
Beware of adjacent tracks not part of the junction that are close to it but don't actually touch - two tracks close enough to each other will count as the same block even if they don't touch

This - frequently folks use Path Signals where Block Signals should be and vice versa.

Some with success - but if you read the fine print - they are specifically designed for a given task.

The name causes confusion for sure - but its the thing.

no its not that. This is my 5th play through and I have about 100 trains and miles of tracks on this play through alone. This is a problem with experimental 1.1 somehow. Even placing the signals correctly, which I have done billions of times now, doesn't work when I connect the track to my existing train network. try it yourself. Drop a junction in an existing section of double tracks. Try to add in blocks and paths as you normally would. Watch what happens to not just the ones you place, but the next ones upstream in each direction. you cant even remove the new ones you placed and get back to 'normal'. really weird.

Then it needs to be reported - https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/ - so the dev's can review/fix etc.

I'm on vanilla here - not interested in beta testing at the moment so can't say or repro the issue here.
Its just a bug, deleting and replacing the signal and/or track section and it will work fine, welcome to experimental :)
