with regards to the other 2 items , the mercer sphere and the somersloop the articles i read are wrong , they say 150 somersloop and 151 mercer spheres , i have over 250 of them both and other players say the same so keep farming them and get a stock on ready for when you need them , note ...... they are not on the object scanner now but can still be found.
whilst on the subject of incorrect figures their are articles that say fixed numbers of power slugs that is also wrong , they respawn all over the place , if i tell players how many shards i got from slugs i get accused of using hacks/mods , i dont use either
The WIP items and slugs are likely incorrectly respawning during updates, which won't, or shouldn't, be happening in the final release version. The numbers listed in online sources are the number of static spawns of those items, which, while subject to change approaching the final version, are nonetheless accurate in a single version playthrough of the game.
The developers already know what these are to be used for.
And why no one uses the search function anymore, this topic has been discussed many times.
Most of the snails and artifacts remain gone even after an update I have found almost all of them and also very few snails that I have not found yet.
1: If the producer changes his mind how or even if they should be used, it was a waste of time and money to add them.
2: Since they don't give tickets or have any use other use other than looting them to shut them the @#!? up.
3: If they are only adding the story at 1.0, why the @#!? did they have to put these things in the game since the beginning of development? So @#!?'ing stupid.
However, removing them from the dev build just for the public build is more tedium than leaving them in and have the players speculate. And they will overlook at least one of them at some point so everyone will pester them about it anyway.
I also collect S.A.M. ore even if it runs only briefly at the start also there I already have some large industrial containers full.
And your point pretty much sums up to: "How dare an Early Access game has WIP stuff in it that have no purpose until the full release?"
Which ironically has the answer in its question: It is an Early Access game where a lot of stuff can change and not a fully released game.
