Block signal and train station
How do you set up block signals if you have multiple trains running into the same station to load/unload, meaning I may or may not have a situation where a train is actively using the station and another train is about to enter the station.

For some reason I can't place a stop signal before the station to tell incoming trains the spot is occupied and they have to wait, so... how do you do that?

As you've already discovered blocks cannot contain stations. However, I don't believe that you need to block off the station like that. I believe trains will naturally stop if the station is already occupied. As long as the last block before the station is close enough that any train waiting for the station would extend into that block it will stop other trains from hitting the waiting train.

Then again, I've not yet tried having multiple trains visiting the same station.

If you've seen trains ram into other trains that are currently docking, then you can disregard what I've said. Also if that's the case, it should be brought up as a bug or feature since if you can't put stations in blocks, and stations aren't naturally considered their own blocks, how do you keep multi train stations from having problems?

Incorrect, path signals cannot contain train stations in its next block. Block signals can be placed right up against a train station at the junction of the track and station. This will prevent trains from colliding when a station is occupied which can happen. The station itself does not govern track blocking.

I simply set at entry and exit a block signal at some large stations also times at each station at the exit a path signal has not yet had a collision in a station

At this station complex I have block signals at the entrance and path signals at the exit

Oh yes and at the exit picture you can also see that I left in the picture two stations in series have built each with signals also secured

Oh, well there you go. I thought stations couldn't be in blocks of any sort. Admittedly I haven't actually gotten to trains since they changed the interaction between signals and stations, so I didn't know first hand. So the whole thing is as simple as putting block signals up and letting the trains just run their course.

Thanks, I'll try this.

Edit: Yeah it works. Stop signal right at the station entrance and no other train will crash into an unloading train. Just make sure they all enter and leave the station in one direction only or you'll deadlock.
