deleting unwanted resources

As you know when you start building you make a lot of mistakes so delete things and try again. The items you delete go into chests and you can retrieve the items later.

So this is my problem ...... i have a lot of chests full of resources scattered on my layout and it looks untidy , is it possible to delete the whole chests and delete them without having to pick them up and empty them

If you control-drag to the trash icon, it will delete all items of that type at once. If the items are not all of the same type, then you have to do that for each type of item.

Another good tip, is when you can place Industrial Containers near major construction projects to store your materials and pull stuff out as needed while putting back extra, since its easier to clean up when finished by just dismantling the container.

If I end up with a bunch of them and just want to delete the chests instead of recovering their contents, I use https://satisfactory-calculator.com/ and just edit them out of the save file. I do the same with foundation pieces that end up inside the terrain that I can't delete in-game because they're unreachable.
