It really sounds like this game is just not for you.
Slapping sloops down is not a viable solution to most problems. They are an extremely limited resource. A single manufacturer requires 4 of them.
Keep in mind that this game is all about building and efficiency. That is the core.
Sure we got a little story from sphere and sloop and the "initial landing" but it is a sandbox game that just allow you to build whatever you want within the limited tech/resources around you.
It is VERY free form open world unlike Fallout 4 or something similar where you have more story and "big bad" that you have to defeat.
In this game, the "big bad" is can you complete all the phases in the space elevator (one of them)
the other "optional big bad" is can you build the "maximize" production with what you have using blueprint, resource management, and inginuity.
There is no "wrong way" to build things. You can be organize, sloppy, or in between. I have seen videos that people build some SERIOUSLY nice 5x5 and 6x6 buildings that can do one thing but product 100/minutes or 1000/min
I personally LOVE train. I just want to build rail all over and make it look nice later like "snowpiercer" style ;)
Quoting ADA:
If you find youself struggling to work within the set size restrictions, remember that this is a you problem, and efficency can always be improved
it's called save / load game.. it build all your factories at once
"Any complaints about the spatial restictions will only reveal your own inefficiencies."
I agree Hoverpack is stupidly slow though.
Yeah this. Sounds like your average game consumer who wants to move from Game A to B in 10 hours or less.
