Mine had a bad section of track that wasn't connected. I manually drove the train until I found it.

You might also have the station facing the wrong direction.

yea i duno, the more i play the more i feel the game has cheap mechanics.

There is a lot of reasons why it would tell you that. Some common ones; you put in the station backwards, you didn't set up the track signals properly, you have a broken piece of track somewhere that needs to be connected, the train can't physically get there without reversing and you don't have another engine on the back for it to reverse with.

Had this issue with a non-looping track, it turns out the stations have to be facing away from each other, not inwards (you want the rounded part of the station facing away from the track on both ends), you also need a locomotive connected to the front AND back if using a non-looping track, also remember to connect the stations to your power grid.

Double check your intersections and make sure that if you replaced the train line that goes into the split that you reconnected the other line, when you place that line it'll only connect to one of them, so at each split sure the two connections are placed into the original line

make sure you didn't accidentally disconnect power to the station

A backward station is often the cause as noted. Placing stations isn't the best. It's hard to judge direction when placing them as the most clear features that show direction are always out of frame, and the orange arrow's direction is pretty hard to read through general orange building effect and being as it's either pointing directly toward or away from you.

I had massive problems understanding trains, so here a short Guide for a point to point Train Connection:
Build the Train stations with direction markers like this:
<-------->
Build your Loading stations attached to the Train station:
<LLLL--------LLLL>
And the most important thing i forgot: Build a Train with TWO Locomotives, each facing the direction you want to go, like this:
<LocomotiveFreightFreightFreightFreightLocomotive>
Now the only need to have is an uninterrupted Rail between the stations, at least one of them connected to a big enough power source. The Railway itself counts as a conductor, so you can use the other trainstation as power source for your infrastructure.

Hope this helps

I just had an issue with trains, new train stops refused to accept trains or get loaded by belt, i tried to fix it by save/load and it crashed my game, can't load that save anymore 100% crashes :/ all 3 autosaves are broken too, rip week of my life.

I think I saw a similar issue in another thread several days ago. Someone suggested load the save up in one of the save editors and delete the trains I think.

Drive the train manually is the best way to debug this. See if you run a Stop Signal, that is red(or the wrong way around)
I had tracks, that didn't connect to the next section, a few times which is hard to spot visually.

You Sir are a mad genius of teaching - such a simple diagram and all my problems with inaccessible stations went away!

There is only one thing that that error can mean: It's physically impossible to get from the current location to the station. Keep in mind that stations are directional, so getting to a station backwards doesn't count as arriving at it.

Given that information you should be able to easily figure out what is wrong. Either your tracks don't allow a train to get to the station facing the right way, or they don't allow a train to get to that station at all. If you don't know where the problem is, just try to drive there manually and when you reach the point where it's broken you'll know.

There is one other error you can get which is "signals are making the next station unreachable" and THAT can be much more complicated.
