You might also have the station facing the wrong direction.
Build the Train stations with direction markers like this:
<-------->
Build your Loading stations attached to the Train station:
<LLLL--------LLLL>
And the most important thing i forgot: Build a Train with TWO Locomotives, each facing the direction you want to go, like this:
<LocomotiveFreightFreightFreightFreightLocomotive>
Now the only need to have is an uninterrupted Rail between the stations, at least one of them connected to a big enough power source. The Railway itself counts as a conductor, so you can use the other trainstation as power source for your infrastructure.
Hope this helps

I had tracks, that didn't connect to the next section, a few times which is hard to spot visually.
Given that information you should be able to easily figure out what is wrong. Either your tracks don't allow a train to get to the station facing the right way, or they don't allow a train to get to that station at all. If you don't know where the problem is, just try to drive there manually and when you reach the point where it's broken you'll know.
There is one other error you can get which is "signals are making the next station unreachable" and THAT can be much more complicated.
