Are you able to get close enough to the location that the bar on the scanner is full and it is beeping almost nonstop? If so, the slug may be concealed by removable objects- cracked rocks you blow up with Nobelisks or small hand-mineable chunks of resources.
If the bar doesn't get full and giving scanner beeps, then it's probably in an underground cave or on a ledge/plateau/bridge well above you- loads of both scenarios.
(Both scenarios also apply to Mercer Spheres and Somersloops when you're scanning for them as well.)
If neither of those apply, then get a screenshot or three and put them in the Bug Report forum for the devs.
+1, this has happen more often than not.
This map is still decent (some stuff move) but So far I can use it to find most of the stuff (it gives elevation)
