GPU crash dump triggered
I've been getting lots of GPU crash dump errors. The crashes have been at random times.
Sometimes I can play for 30 seconds before it crashes and other times I can play for 45 minutes before a crash.

Now something has changed. The game won't play anymore for more than 10 seconds without crashing. It crashes just sitting in the main menu before loading a game. I'm getting a new error and it's the same exact error every time. Even the ccp:# are the exact same. I don't have any mods installed. I'm hoping it's not a GPU hardware issue. Thanks for any help in pinpointing the issue.

Issue seems to be related to your GPU. What are your hardware specs? Have you updated your GPU driver recently? What are the temps of your GPU?

Looks like a DX12 error. Have you tried 11 or Vulkan?

Also I see errors related to UE4. Satisfactory uses UE5

But maybe that's an internal name?
I believe that I all of a sudden have been getting crashes due to the last Windows Cumulative Update package last week. :csd2angry:

I updated the graphics card driver yesterday.

Computer runs at stocks speed no overclocking
Intel Core i9 10900KF
Motherboard ROG STRIX Z490-F
Memory DD4 64GBytes
GPU GTX 1080 Ti MSI Duke

I barely have enough time to get to the video option before the game crashes to change the DX12 to 11.

As far as the UE4 vs UE5 this could be a problem
I've been playing the Satisfactory Beta version for a couple years and just recently started playing the new 1.0 version. Not sure why the game would be running on an old engine. I haven't gotten very far in my game, so it's probably work while to do a clean install of the game. Thanks for the information, I'll update here if the reinstall fixes the problem.

Force DX11 in the Steam game launcher command line (to get there → rt-click the game in Steam Library < Properties < General tab - Launch Options): -dx11

The one for Vulkan is: -vulkan

~or~

-force-vulkan

Hope this helps.

A clean install of the game didn't fix the issue. The game crashed 10 seconds after getting to the main menu. I even removed the old save games. I do have a new error though. The error still shows UE4, but this time DX11. This is a vanilla version, no mods and no settings changes.

Since the issue is GPU related no reinstall of the game will fix that.
Paragon Sep 23, 2024 @ 8:52am
Did you clear your GPU shader cache and DirectX cache?
Bedna Sep 23, 2024 @ 8:56am
A dxdiag might be helpful to provide info on what is going wrong.

Also, please use

around your log text to make it readable for us tech freaks...

I just cleared the GPU shader and DirectX cache. There was cache in various places and also ran disk clean up DirectX shader cache. Restarted computer and the game crashed in 10 seconds.

I'm going to try the dxdiag to see if it shows anything.

Edit: dxdiag shows no problem found on all pages.

When was the last time your GPU driver got updated? Have you tried a clean reinstall of your GPU drivers?

That might be the issue. Do a clean reinstall of your GPU driver.

Thanks for all your help so far.

I just did a clean graphics card install and after restarting the computer and starting up the game, it crashed in 10 seconds.

The graphics card is 6 years old. I love the card, but I'm hoping that it's not a hardware issue.

I'm going to shut the computer down and remove and reinstall the graphics card and connections. Just for kicks.

Well, we don't know that, and maybe there are things YOU don't identify as a problem, but others might.

But if you don't want to provide requested information, I'm out and wish you good luck! :)
