Unlock "Fungus-Like Growth" Tree in the MAM?

hey--I have collected 18 bacon mushrooms but the tree "Fungus-Like Growth" is still locked in the MAM, is this normal? how do I unlock it?

The material your looking for is Mycelia which is found by using the chainsaw to cut down Big blue cave mushrooms, spherical mesh plants in fields, or large tube fungus in some of the multicolored forests. I think there are a few things you can get it from by hand picking it as well but those are the things i get the most from.

Yup, you'll find black spherical shaped items half submerged in the murky waters of eastern swamp area.
