Oil seems REALLY nerfed in 1.0
Just finished working on my first oil processing plant. Surprisingly I ended up with only 12 burners for power! So I figured it was because I had only 1 normal and 2 Impure. So now that I'm finished I thought I'd find a better location, the kind that requires 80 burners. I began running along the coast for the oil sites that I found. But EVERYWHERE if I find a normal all I find are several impure. After a long search I finally located a possible great place with 2 Pure and 1 normal but Pure oil is not as prevalent as I remember it being!

Did you fully overclock the oil nodes? Because if you didn't that would be an easy way to increase the amount of oii you can burn for power

you can do a lot with two pure oil if you overclock them, then convert it all to heavy oil and then use the diluted packaged fuel alt to double the quantity and then unpackage it back to fuel and shove it all in to fuel generators

there is a regular diluted fuel recipe so you can do it without the packing/unpacking but it requires a higher tier building to produce

They also significantly buffed oil with Fuel Powered Generators running standard Fuel:
-before 1.0 = 150 MW
-post 1.0 = 250 MW

Coal is now almost waste of time to setup other than 1 small starter plant to just get off bio burners. All the time spent setting up a formerly nice 3600 MW coal plant with 48 generators is far better spent just staying with starter 16 generator coal setup, and go do oil.

A single pure oil node, or combining 2 normal ones with max overclock gives the full 600 flow rate Mk2 pipes can handle. Even without turbo fuel or other higher fuels, plain old standard FPG with regular fuel = 10k MW starter plant.

Don't focus on whether node is pure or impure, just think of X = 600 total flow with full overclock. So mix and match enough normal and impure nodes to combine into one pipeline system until reaching 600 max flow rate.

yeah you could do it with blender but you got be much further on to get that.

Well, I disagree with your viewpoint of coal as I have 4 plants running in the ocean of my coast. And unlike bio fuel those plants will run adinfinitum. But what I remember from the last time I build oil was I had several oil locations with a nice level of oil making 80 plants out of six wells. But it was also a while ago that I built oil so it could have been nerfed before 1.0. And for everything I build I alway pay attention to the quality of the node. After all, you can only boost an impure just so much.

Packaging and unpackaging items is only useful if you plan to move liquids by train, truck, or drone. Otherwise it is the most wasteful thing I've seen in the game.

I think you missed the part where he DOUBLES the quantity... For the cost of a little plastic...

Its been tremendously buffed :) Turning 600 crude into 2400 rocketfuel and burning it to make ~150.000MW of power.

Yea and im sure the person your responding to also plays games for fun just like anyone else. Just because fuel generators might seem convoluted and intimidating to you personally, doesn't mean it's actually difficult to figure out.

and here i was happy that i made my first oil plant with 48 generators with turbo fuel and it somehow works... lol
