Annoyed by creatures. Do I miss out on anything by toning down their aggressiveness?
I just want to build and explore new areas without constantly getting attacked by creatures that either yeet straight at me or have perfect aim. But is there anything later on I miss out on by changing their hostility to reactive?

For radioactive hogs - I was able to build a high wall behind a walkway I was on so that when they shot their rocks at me I wouldn't fly off to my death. Then I lured them onto a walkway that didn't let them get too close to me, and built walls behind them so they couldn't walk back. Once trapped I surrounded them with walls and added a floor on top so they wouldn't bother me anymore. This is before I've even unlocked coal power, relatively early in the game. It wasn't bad getting to rummage where they were surrounding a wreckage, and I could use the stuff I found to sink into coupons for a boombox and other fun stuff. But also it's a bad idea to mine the uranium - that killed me right away.

So I think if you run into a really hard enemy (the radioactive hogs seem to be the hardest enemy in the game), try making a trap like that and you won't need to kill them. Otherwise there might be other tricks to try to come up with, like making them fall from great heights if you can manage that, or getting them near poison clouds. Those might kill them too - I'm just guessing.

I like the default setting. But I also didn't like it when I died and needed to go back and get the chest.

I also don't like it when I explore caves. I might have arachnophobia because of this...

PS. There are settings to disable a lot of things. But I mean the default setting. I might set those off or tone down the aggressiveness sometime later.

Make a hyper tube cannon blue print. Then stamp it down and aim it at where you died. Get your stuff back in less than a minute.

Ever noticed how creatures attack each other? Especially Hogs and Stingers? Had some fun thinning out their numbers by letting thm fight each other and picking off the survivors.

You know what, i've kept them on didn't want to change anything from regular game.
But now that i see your post i might just go in there and disable or make them less aggressive (didn't know about that option). They kinda annoying i just want to progress.

Auto feeding my Weapons and Jetpack per dimensional thingi, i bring Hell @exploring. So no changes on my side. Only inventar not lost by death. The start is really rough until Jetpack, Cluster Nobelisk and Rifle without Dimensional Inventar. I find the bigger spiders really hard the Elites and they annoying. But all creatures can be good killed at keeping distance first. And if you rushed in kiting them or leave.

Yeah them nuclear hogs can be annoying.
Luring them into gas cloud helps

I like to build a tractor and thin their numbers with that.

It also helps I am a pretty good shot with the rebar gun, allowing for it's drop off.

Refuelling equipment from dimensional storage didn't seem to work when I tried it. Inventory only .How do you do this?

My only issue is the giant spiders that jump at you and the pigs that spit.

The spiders seems to do 90% of your health in one hit. And there doesn't seem to be any way to reduce that amount. Does anyone know if there is any armor or tech that reduces damage taken?

And both of those mobs have massive health pools taking multiple rifle clips to take down.

The bamboo forest is a nightmare.

Built some high voltage power poles to get through the biome and both giant pigs and spiders just go crazy in that area and snipe you off the power lines before you even see them.

Anything I am missing tech wise?

Have jet pack, gun, nobelisks, etc.

THIS Idea I like....

Even after automating the best ammo and bombs, they're just a huge chore. Something about their health and numbers makes them really obnoxious in 1.0 that I didn't feel before this update, not to mention the fact that they don't load in on time. I walk up to a mercer sphere that has no enemies near it, then boom 3 radioactive hogs. Not hard to beat, but extremely time consuming and boring, and this happens everywhere lol

Nothing at all. It's the best way to play really, this is a factory game and not a shooter.

Okay its semi auto. You must swap it in your pocket. But better then journey back. Or make it everytime yourself. Plenty of space in Dimensional inventar. I relied on upgrades very early on. Speed and Space full now and manuel uploader. I put everything into it. Before everything else.

Best thing I found to do was swear off all dedicated weapons. Only use basic explosives, vehicles, and building to deal with aggressive aliens. Run over the little ones. Knock over the big ones and stick bombs to their face while they're down. Box everything else in or out before they get into aggro range.

If you fight like this, the combat is at least halfway passable.
