However, I used 3-4 blue slugs to a) research MAM and b) overclock a few critical early game outputs. Getting my early coal rush power setup properly and therefore also substantially boost early industrial ramp up was worth using some slugs before unlocking somersloop tech.
I'm just dumping over 50 of them on my Coal generator just because I'm too lazy to build more generators XD.
Do I feel wasted? Absolutely not. Since you can just take them out if you really need them. But considering I still have over a hundred and have not even taken 20% of all slugs in nearby biomes yet. I think I'm not gonna feeling wasted.
that said,...
an awfull 50ish wasted, nothing i can't survived
Not that knowing any of this stops me doing it! I don't even have power plants capable of accepting power shards yet!
Er, you sure about that? Fairly sure they're one-time collectables like the others.
Updates can reset them, that's why they seem like the respawn... it was just the update that brought them back.
"wasting" 50 shards or so not doubling them, really does not matter.
I'd say using them when needed (and therefore improving your factory) is better than waiting until you can double them.
