Suggestion: Unlock camera rotation when in vehicles
As someone who gets motion sickness occasionally in games, the way that vehicles work currently is really bad. As far as I know there's no option to change this behaviour (I did look but please PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong)... but the fact that turning the vehicle also turns the camera is really bad for it. Allowing us to have an option to have the camera be unlocked and controllable manually instead would fix this though. As it is I can't use the vehicles unless I'm just driving in a straight line lol

For those of you who are gonna chime in and be like "lol i don't have this issue"... that's great - I'm glad you don't. But motion sickness in games is a common issue so maybe just try and understand your experience can be different and move on lol... there's not really any reason that they couldn't just give us control over the camera like this. You can already move the camera on its own - it just also pulls in the rotation from the vehicle at the same time with makes it jarring and triggers motion sickness for some of us.

That doesn't resolve the issue I'm talking about unfortunately. When the car turns, it still forces the camera to rotate even when the camera is "unlocked". Its still locked to the vehicle rotation in that way.

I've played my share of games with cars in my life and I can guarantee you that you are in a vast minority if you prefer your camera to not rotate with your vehicle. You want the camera to be pointed in the direction you're driving, it's natural. And for the times where you don't want that, you can just rotate the camera with your mouse, that's why you can do that.

And how does a camera pointing in the direction of your car causing any motion sickness at all? And how would making the camera be independent of the vehicle's direction make it any better? The second options sounds significantly worse for that matter? Sounds like you're making this up as you go, not going to lie.

Nah. I'd much prefer they give us first person and lock the camera to that. Bonus points for supporting TrackIR.

I mean, you're totally allowed to have your own preference... I wasn't asking for it to be forced that way - I specifically said an option to have it that way. I've also played plenty of games with cars and plenty of them do allow the camera to not be rotated with the car, and a lot also have a delay on it too so the car turns and the camera turns shortly after wards.

If you don't get motion sickness from this stuff, that's fine... not really sure why you are questioning why it causes it for me and some others though. Long story short - anything that forces camera movement can cause motion sickness. Having the camera maintain a consistent world rotation separate from the vehicle can be very helpful with managing this. Again - was suggesting that a toggle be added for it. Not really sure why I would be bothering to make this up lol

Honestly, that would be good too. But I've seen that requested a lot and it never got added so I wouldn't hold my breath there

Just wanted to chime in and drop a MASSIVE agree.
There should be a 3rd camera option for a truly unlocked camera, rather than just the semi-unlocked vertigo-inducing option

TrackIR gets my vote!

The worst part isnt the locking view to the front of the car. If it stayed locked to the front that'd be one thing. The worst part is when you go down a really steep hill in the explorer, it swings your view point to the rear of the car so suddenly your looking backwards and cant see where you're going until you C to find the one that lets you swing the camera back proper.
