Space giraffe stuck

I got one of those space giraffe tall creatures spawn in the only close body of water around my main factory, rendering me unable to build a water extractor on it..

Am I screwed? Does anyone know if they auto despawn after a certain time?
I tried hitting it as they usually run away on land but doesn't move in the water.

You can kill them, they just have a big HP pool. Body may take a bit to despawn though.

Thanks! I was able to kill it after a few dozen hits and it actually despawned in just a few seconds.

There killable. Just takes a bit. I’m sad they don’t drop parts anymore
