Don't bother asking here as you will get stuff like @Tibi said or other unhelpfull variations of it. People here aren't interested in an actual discussion about that because they think that any change is bad no matter how logical it would be. My thread about this got locked due to these people turning it into bickering and unconstuctive discussion.
Edit: Or any of the many posts here about the same thing:

I am really looking forward to the mod manager being updated so I can use this again:

That's why I carry stack of cluster nobelisks and fill any bug-ridden cave with about 20 explosives and watch the dead bugs fly out with the fireball. Sadly it doesn't work as well in the swamp where the huge ones spawn in groups, definitely turned the game into horror game when I was ziplining home through the area at night, and then you start hearing horse size bugs landing behind.
Although I wish the game had flamethrower to clear bugs and forests...
At a certain point you should ask yourself if maybe this just isn't for you if you're getting squeamish at pictures of cats. Like, really...? If setting enemies to passive so you don't have to fight them and replacing spiders with cat pictures is till too much for you then I don't even know what to tell you anymore.
If your answer is "Not at all" or "Wouldn't care/mind at all because not using it anyway" then please either ignore posts like these or contribute in a constructive way.
If the above isn't your answer and you still reply like this because that change is too much for you then I don't know what to tell you anymore.
Why are you even talking about me here? I'm not the one with the problem, I am not the one who wants something changed, or part of the team who makes the game. I'm just an outside observer looking at things from a neutral, logical point of view.
Your whole argument is basically "why not do it"? I'm afraid to tell you that software development doesn't operate on "why not?". The only question ever asked when talking about changes or new features is "why?". Why do this?
I understand that every person has things they would rather not see, and it's really nice of the devs to spend their own time, effort and money to accommodate people like that, especially since none of this is required in the first place and hardly makes a difference in terms of selling copies. But there is a line where things start to go from understandable to just plain silly. And I believe this is one of those lines. If you have a problem with fighting still cat pictures, or just looking at them when you are passing by, then maybe it's time to put the game down and go play solitaire or something similar.
Also at that point this just sounds like something that would create genuine issues in real life, so general self improvement is definitely advised, that kind of thing is definitely NOT normal or healthy. Accommodation i definitely not the right play here however you want to look at it.
The question still remains at what harm does moving the option do to you that you are apparently opposed to it? No one is affected negatively by it but quite some are affected positively by it and their enjoyment of the game is improved. If you are opposed to people being happier then this is neither normal nor healthy.
Now, if you think that cat pictures are enough to fool every brain then I'm sorry to tell you that you are vastly underestimating the pattern recognition of the human brain. Evolution trained it to excell at it because it meant a higher chance for survival. Meaning the brain is smart enough to see the movements and still be able to associate it with a known threat. Thus the whole illusion vanishes.
Really, these things of "Just grow up" or "Just don't be scared" to "Just deal with it" are unconstructive in the purest sense. And your post boils down to that. Stuff like that isn't working. There is a reason why r/thanksimcured exists. Because there are too many people going on with "You have a problem? Have you just tried not having that?" and think this is in any shape or form helpful. And I speak from experience. Do you know how many people told me with my ADHD to just concentrate because it ain't that hard? Yeah, for someone with a regular functioning brain it ain't. But my brain literally isn't functioning normally! I know what you are thinking now: "Just get therapy!" Gee, thanks. Already getting it. My ADHD hasn't improved. Still need to take meds. And here is the thing: People have to wait for getting a spot for therapy. And in the worst case also pay for it. And if you don't have the money for it, tough luck.
This is why I have a huge issue with these smartass comments that are not constructive in the slightest but are just made to punch down on someone. If you don't want to receive them when you need help or want to have a meaningful discussion, then don't do them in the first place.
